Unfortunately, I'm not receiving any PM's from this site. I've thoroughly checked my mail server logs for any signs of the dropped messages to no avail. Could one of the admins please look for any dropped mail or errors when connecting to my mail server? mail.acpsystems.com / 204.215.167.166 To SMTP addy: dago @ forthefew . com Thanks in advance for your troubleshooting assistance. dago |

Dago, I just fired off a test PM to you. Let me know what happens. I've been using the PM feature regularly with no problem, including just yesterday. You might check to see that your spam filter is not catching the PMs and sequestering them away somewhere. |

I havent had any issues at all with getting them. Sometimes hotmail will dump them into the trash box instead of my in box tho...weird. |

yeah, i'm not getting any of them. nor is there any reference to anything sent to my specified email address in my server log files, my spam filter log files, or any other log files. this leads me to believe that badweb's sending mail server MAY be using a rbl list that includes the ip address of my server. but i'm grasping at straws here. as an fyi, i'm no newbie at this type of thing. my company sends out about 7.5 billion emails per year. this is frustrating me. i want to hear from my fellow bad webbers! grumble, grumble... |

RBL's generally conditionally drop incoming, not block outgoing, don't they? Want a GMail account? It rocks! (Message edited by reepicheep on December 07, 2004) |

that's true, reep. but they can also be used to filter email addresses from rbl'd domains before accepting them into your database. we employ this technique to filter out undesired domains. it helps with our deliverability overall tremendously. but that's another topic entirely. this is really bugging me though. there is absolutely no sign at all in my log files about any messages at all going to that account from bad web. is there any way someone could check the bad mail folder on the smtp server that sends msgs on behalf of this site? i guess it's really not that important in the end. like i said, this is just bugging me. |

I'll check.... Nope, nothing, nada. Not a single bounced email message. Have you checked your spam filter? |

What if someone with a @badweatherbikers.com address sends you a mail with a pop/smtp client program? Have you tried pm'ing anyone and send a copy to yourself? |

Very strange indeed... I made no changes on my end. But I changed my email acct to another one of my addresses that's hosted on that same email server. Success! I then changed my bad web acct email addy back to the original, and sent another message. Success again! I'm still not sure what was going on, but who cares at this point. Thanks for the assistance everyone. -- |

My wife's got PMS too. But not from BadWeb. Though she is starting to blame me for menopause. Note the "men" in menopause. That's what's got her thinking it's my fault. Sheeesh. |

fullpower, There's no need to thank me for you more than likely don't get mail from us unless you have actually opt'd in AND paid for one of our services, or you have a similar relationship with any one of our customers. So there's really no need for smartass comments like that. For you have no idea what you're talking about. I agree there are a great many companies out there just sending out crap. We are not one of them. Best regards returned. -- |
