Not interested in chat. Plenty of good existing services for that already. It also competes for content that we want to save on the board, like tech info and advice. |

this is an idea i have seen on other fourms which would be to have some were on the fourm to say how many people are on the fourm at that time. |

That may be a feature that already exists. Will keep it in mind. It might scare me to know though. |

A suggestion re. the classified section: List your items here with your asking price or go home. Merely posting links to e-bay-ed items orta be verbotten, it's an insult to the Badweb community. My $0.02 Great board, btw. Excellent enthusiast's tool. thanks, Lornce |

I 2nd that. Thanks. To clarify, an ebay link is fine, but geesh, put down your sell price for us here. |

Regarding the thread about the guy that got ripped off in the classifieds: How about a hall of fame for guys that make good on their deals, maybe tied in to the classifieds or something? |

Not speaking for others but I only drop the eBay link after no one has responded to prices on here. |

"Regarding the thread about the guy that got ripped off in the classifieds: How about a hall of fame for guys that make good on their deals, maybe tied in to the classifieds or something?" Or a Hall of Shame for those who don't. Speaking of which: Oddbawl, don't you owe me lunch? |

If you don't want your posts here deleted, they must conform to the topic. Please do not use this thread to post miscellaneous chatter. |

Custodians, Please take a little time and review some of the avatars that are posted under the usernames. A few of them are quite inappropriate when viewed by Court's "coffee table rules" (which I subscribe to, BTW). When scanning the "last day" index, I can generally avoid threads that don't interest me, subjects I don't care to delve into, etc. But when you pick & scroll down a thread, the avatars pop up as you go-you have no control over it. Let's use a little discretion, please. I don't care what pix people use in their profiles, as long as you guys OK it. If I don't like it, I can avoid it. But if it's the same pic that pops up as you scroll, there's no way to avoid it that I know of. |

Well said. I find some of them offensive as well and hope that the newness, now wearing off, will be a call for some self policing. Thank you for mentioning this. Court |

I've already asked a couple BadWeBrs to revise their pic. You may need to do a "refresh" (F5 in MSIE) to get the new/revised ones to overwrite the old one. Thanks. |

Errmn, so what defines the Badweb bounds of taste with these things? Is the info posted? Just curious.... |

Court came up with a pretty good rule of thumb... If I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving BadWeB content sitting out on the coffee table in front of my 10 year old niece, it probably isn't appropriate. |

That seems a good and decent standard. Thanks for the info. My 12 year old niece is a golden retriever... |

Tool&Die sub-thread request, is this possible? There seems to be a need based on posts in the last week or two that I've been off and on elsewhere, thanks. Or maybe allow it to be self-sub-threaded. Like one could be: this is how I jig a head for surfacing in my 3-1 Mill. Another could be: this is how I machine a timing hole cover. Another could be: this is how I machined a drain hole plug like Crusty's with my mini Unimat Lathe. Stuff like that. As said, I think there's a need. I know there are machinist's forums out on the web, and I occasionally snag a copy of Home Shop Machinist, but this would be focused on us folks with at least the desire to make our own parts for our own Buell bikes on our own. Number one rule (or was it #2) would be: Ask how, not how much. Thanks. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=3842&post=356223#POST 356223 |

Thank you sir, as soon as my recovery is complete and I can lift stuff again and I get a digital camera I'll be gettin' busy. Say, wasn't it you who made up some special tranny tools? |
