I totaled my XB in late sept. and just now got all the checks. I already said I wanted an XB9R not A 12R. Was told at 1rst early dec. for 05'XB9R. They have 05' city cross and XB12S. I want a 9'. Passed up 04' RC51 with 0 miles new for 8475.00 I love V-Twins and the Rc is a cool bike with pros and cons like all bikes. I will wait for my 05' XB9R because I like the feel of the Buell and how nimble and also the looks,and running with the big boys with 140hp plus bikes. I love the excuses like ( my bikes not running good,My tires are wasted!"take offs that they bought" Some act like they have all this track time, bikes aren't even wired for track. Always someone faster and thats not what I'm about. Anyway another thing I like about the Buells the most are the people in the Brag and Bad Web. and owners group are so cool. I could have just about any bike. I would like a second bike. My first is the XB! I'll be waiting until then (Late dec.) for the 05' XB9R. Hope to See you all on the road soon. Ride safe! | ||

My first Buell is the XB9SX. My next bike will be the XB12R. After that I want to start finding the older Buells. I can not see my riding the jap I4's after getting on a Buell. Besides, it seems all that happens with the jap bikes (not said in a bad way) is when someone get's a new one everyone stands around it and talks about it for a minute and then starts to bs. With the Buell it seems they talk about the bike and just keep on talking. It turns way more heads and always get's questions asked. | ||

Shred, Totaly agree with you, something about Buells brings people together, which creats memories as good as the actual rides do. Hope we can ride together again in the future. Take Care. Craig | ||

I guess both bikes are pretty finicky about suspension set-up, but are both rewarding when set-up properly. V-twins rule! | ||

Well said about the Buells and the people. I have a strong passion for just about all bikes so more than others. V-Twins are my favorite! Darthane I do have my stock wheels but already sent them to be painted. I like that power ram. Hemi? Black is sweet as long as it's clean. I have a 98' ram 1500 4x4 with 2500 suspension. Blown engine at 100,000 stuck a crate motor R/T 5.9L with H.O computer and 33 inch tires. I'm no red neck thats is high as it gos. I now have just under 300,000 miles this spring I might trade in for 2500 turbo D' that has 325hp and 600 ft-lb of torque and thats stock! Back to the rims, I might be able to get my hands on a set. I can ask! Your bike looks nice. Keep the frame silver sets off the black body work. Black rims would be sweet! | ||

HONU- good to see you post! The bike looks great, when I see your bike I miss mine even more! Not to many white with orange. Want to sell? Hope your doing well, thanks again for holding my arm up while it was dislocated. You did a better job then that EMT. The doctor said that most of the damage was from being dis. for three hrs. I go in for more Xrays on the knee don't look good and the shoulder gets a pin and some rotator cuff work this late winter when I get off the blood thinner. Take care and ride safe! | ||

I've done track days with Pacific Track Time, Edge, DP, CLASS and Zoom Zoom and none of them require you to safety wire your bike. Vik | ||

Shred: Where are they pinning your shoulder? I got smashed in an enduro race when I was a teenager and had to have a pin in my left shoulder to reattach the end of the bone that sits in the joint. I was able to have it taken out about 5 years later and have no probs at all now. Good luck with all that stuff bro! (I also hear that the rotator cuff surgery can be done orthoscopicly now. No Hemi (it's a 2002, year before the Hemi was reintroduced), but I love that truck to death. You can have any color you want, as long as it's black (and clean)! If you get a line on some (relatively) cheap wheels in good shape, let me know. I'd be interested in buying them. | ||

Eeeek.. A lot of 'Track' groups require safety wires once you get out of the 'basic' groups. Some even require it to enter a novice track run. Others, don't. I've ridden CLASS (that's where the pic is from) and am thinking of going to a few NESBA events next year, so long as I don't ride in their 'Advanced' grouping, they don't require the wire. I suppose if I was to ever start drilling holes in my Buell for wires, I'd leave them in all the time. However, I've yet to do that and unless I get really serious about track riding, I don't see myself going that route. Of course, I've yet to go the 'number' route either. After all, I'm on a street bike, so why do I need a number? Of course, I may need it for NESBA (not sure).. But hey I'll cross that hurdle when I get there. Later, | ||

Thanks Blublak, I was just getting a laugh on the riders that at the part but can't ride the part. Acting like they SHRED tires and I'm (Not tooting my own horn there always someone faster and I ride for myself and to have a good time with my local and far away fellow riders not to show off. Always room for me to learn and to ride smarter,faster,safer. The local Racing Schools like Kevin Schwantz wire (for safety). Ed Bargy racing school makes you wire (your own bike for safety)and I believe Wera and Formula USA and CCS ETC. wire for safety. Tracks like Barber, Tall. G.P, Daytona, ETC. There are some exceptions for some Private riding clubs and tracks. If you damage the track with an oil spill or anti-freeze spill you will pay $$. In G.A. a local club GSB(G.A sport bikes) have some tracks they rent like Jennings G.P will let non-wiried bikes in the past. Haven't been to J.G.P and rode with Pacific Track Time. etc. in C.A but I will remember and tell all my friends and the local race tracks. I was saying I have a good time riding up against bigger and smaller bikes that have so much more power than the Buell. I have had a few bikes and logged many miles and enjoy the ride of the Xbs' after I get my next XBR I also hope to get a track bike but not sure if V-Twin or In-line 4. I get the point and yes, all race organizations require you to safety wire your bikes. At the same time, I've ridden my street bike in the A group at Sears Point with zero safety wiring. I ride pretty mellow on the street, too. | ||

Shred, the Cummins engine is a blinder. that engine is used in 19 ton trucks in europe. it's strong & flexible, but & it's a big one, if you want to get the best out of it you need to make it work hard from day 1, that's pushing it hard with a good load on, If you know someone who'll lend you a big trailer you can load up, go & do some big hills with it when you can & make it slug & wind the turbo up. If you forever run empty or with a light load, the day you need the power it'll struggle to deliver. I've been driving trucks over 20 years & I wouldn't hesitate to buy Cummins. But it still won't sound like a V8!  | ||

Oh yeah baby, I LOVE turbo diesels (got 2) but I nearly always have a V8 powered something as well, I got addicted to them about 30 years ago starting with ally block Rover's & since becoming Mopar enhanced. Current baby has dual pipes with cherry bombs so the frogs can hear me leaving them for dead at the lights. Gotta have the music! | ||
