Whoaa! Is that a stock idler wheel? Not a bad idea. Wonder how long it will last? Wonder if you could "surface it" with something replaceable... epoxy, polyurethane, etc. Could probably get a hole saw, and one of those white cutting boards (nylon?), and create something consumable out of that as well. |

Reep, UHMW ('Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene' or 'real tough fricken plastic') is both slick and tough. It is extruded in round bar and can be machined to size/shape. With a bushing pressed/pinned into the center, it might be a simple go. two cents, --ts |

Don't worry Fullpower. I caught the "FMJ" reference. Got a giggle out of it. Didn't realize it 'til I read it again. Brain isn't functioning up to par today. Four day weekend on the mind. Rich |

Full Metal Jacket? Are you kidding? My dad used to chant something similar WAY before that movie came out... Hell, I'll bet there are other BadWebbers that know those and a bunch of jodies as well.. Hmmmm..Maybe, we could modify one or two for the Buellers? Later, |

its not the stock idler, it is plastic, and it is in process of upgrade to a steel ball bearing idler sprocket. would be cool if we could post a little bit LARGER IMAGE FILES. got a few images for the board, but degrading the size/quality is a nuisance, and time consuming as well. regards to all, dean |

Fullpower... you might want to try a better optimizer, like maybe xat or Photoshop Elements. You should be able to get a full screen picture with good quality. It will be a time consuming nuisance, but they will be bigger and look better. I try to stay at 640 pixels across to keep people from having to scroll right and left as they read. The size is usually fine once optimized. Thanks for taking the time to post the pic. |

I have waited for 3 and 1/2 years to buy a new bike. I tried waiting 3 and 1/2 weeks for the yellow (ugh) XB9 that I ordered, meanwhile staring at this XB12 parked in front of my parts counter the whole time. So ends the eternal debate... "To (x)be(9), or not to (x)be(9)"!! Blake added a space and a carriage return between the pics to prevent page from going over-width. (Message edited by blake on December 01, 2004) |
