Eric- While on our trip to meet Newfie last summer we ran across a guy from BC riding a VFR. He was great to talk to. We also met another guy from Quebec, also on a VFR. I always like to talk to people from other areas to get their perspective. Some day I'm going to make it up your way. I would love to ride to Alaska some time but I have to be careful how I use my vacation due to family stuff. |

I always thought this board was populated by a right-of-center group, but maybe its just that any liberal comment gets deleted. Yep, you nailed it Sportyeric! BadWeb does have a right-of-center slant but there are left-of-center people here. They're normally drowned out by a few right-of-center posters and if that doesn't work the liberal posts are simply deleted. I should know. Many of my posts have disappeared! BTW, I don't think you'll have any trouble wearing that shirt in Seattle! |

John (M2me), You are not merely left of center. You are way out in Michael Moore land. And if you don't drop the partisan political ranting, I'll do it for you. Simple. Your choice. You need to let it go. Eric, If it makes you feel any better, I removed my own post too. If John (M2me) were to don a piece of clothing having an image of our President on it, it would burn his skin. |

I drive tour buses for a living.I got a reaming from the boss a few years ago for my editorial slant. He figures I should provide the names and stats of mountains and buildings and such. I figure I should provide a liberal education to all our American visitors, covering things like the healthcare and education systems, public transit, pot laws, the idiocy of hosting the Olympics, taxes, etc. Strangely, after one rant, I had a passenger say I sounded like Rush Limbaugh.I said "sorry." He said, "No.Its a good thing." Ya'll should come up for a bus ride! But I won't be wearing my favourite T in Seattle 'cause I'd probably tick off some good riding mates. We're all too old and set in our ways so we don't talk politics much. Although Buellnuts got me going when he said it was a nice country except for the lack of freedom (because we had to sit in the outdoor section to smoke a cigarette.) I pointed out that I could smoke whatever I wanted, while he can't because he has random drug testing. |

Has Newfoundland ever threatened to secede from Canada and apply for admission to the USA? I remember a news story from years ago...

"... I'd probably tick off some good riding mates. We're all too old and set in our ways so we don't talk politics much. Jeez, why didn't WE think of that?? Motorcycles are the common thread here. As we have repeatedly seen, injecting politics into the discussion polarizes people, gets them mad at each other, and causes the level of the discourse to fall WAY off. How 'bout we stick to bikes and fun stuff that doesn't doesn't generate so much heat? rt |

Hey I know, let's in one fell swoop attempt to neatly assign everyone here to some inane overgeneralized political category, that way we can more easily be divisive and hateful towards each other. |

Hey Newf,
quote:Three years ago, Halifax and other towns and villages from Newfoundland to Manitoba to the Northwest Territories to British Columbia welcomed, as the prime minister mentioned, more than 33,000 passengers on diverted flights. For days after September the 11th, Canadians came to the aid of men and women and children who were worried and confused and had nowhere to sleep. You opened your homes and your churches to strangers. You brought food, you set up clinics, you arranged for calls to their loved ones, and you asked for nothing in return. One American declared, "My heart is overwhelmed at the outpouring of Canadian compassion." How does a person say thank you to a nation? Well, that's something a president can do. And so let me say directly to the Canadian people and to all of you here today who welcomed Americans: Thank you for your kindness to America in an hour of need. (Applause.) That emergency revealed the good and generous heart of this country and showed the true feelings of Canadians and Americans toward each other. The affection that appeared in an instant will always be there, and it runs deep. President Bush, speaking this morning in Halifax
It's well worth one's time to read the entire transcript. It sure beats the partisan hatefest some seek to propagate. |

Yeah Yeah Yeah Wah Wah Wah, I was just whining that he should have came here!!! One comment is that I suppose he(Bush Jr.) knows where we are as it has been a known fact that Bush Sr. has been coming up this way for years venturing off into the wilderness with Da Boys to hunt and fish. Funny seeing secret service guys dressed like the MIB in the middle of no where armed to the teeth. Blake, If M2me is far in Moore Lane (we actually have a town called Moorlands) then I'd say your way out there in the Bush!!!!!!!Your so far out in the Bush you got to come out to hunt!!!!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - Please don't delete me I thought is was too funny |

Can we get Mike Moore to move his large A.. to Canada? I would help pay his moving expenses! |

Nah, then he'd be paying his income tax to Canada. And the hit on the domestic fast food and donut industry would be catastrophic. I see where pay per view is now showing F911. I'll finally get to watch it. Maybe tomorrow. |

I am not "way out in Michael Moore land"! Why can't you accept Micheal Moore for what he is? He's a film maker, an entertainer. He holds no political office and sets no policy. Why does an entertainer trouble you so much? I have read the entire Halifax speech and agree that it was a very good speech. Unfortunately it was delivered a little over three years too late. A day late and a dollar short pretty much sums up the entire Bush administration! |

Moore was seated next to former President Jimmy Carter at the Democrat convention. He purports to have made a "documentary" about our President that in a time of war is in reality a piece of anti-American smear propaganda. You need to shut the f up. You and Moore lost the election by near 4MILLION votes. Cease the divisive partisan bitching or take a hike. Your choice. Last warning. |

Blake just cracks me up! He's hilarious! Blake descends from the mountain top, clasping tablets of the holy Bush adminsitration to his bosom! "Obey these scriptures!", a booming, Blake voice calls out, "You lost the election and need to shut the f up! This is your last warning!" Absolutely hilarious!!! |

Glad you got a laugh out of that John. Unfortunately I meant what I said. There will be no more of your lies, no more of your partisan attacks, no more of your divisive Bush-hating rhetoric. Not here anyway. Please do not attempt any further participation on this board. Your permission to contribute to this forum is hereby ended. Blake (Admin/Custodian - BadWeatherBikers.com) |
