Well set my meeting up today. Owen is going with me as a posible sub for the treasurer. He is going to do the interview with them just incase we need him. I let Tony know on the phone that we can use him as long as we can switch him out later on after we are official. He said ok and for him to come down on the 1st with me. Glad to hear your meeting went well Nick. I am still on for Sunday but time will be an issue. Only 1 day off. Reserves next weekend and my boss adjusted my hours for the 11th ride. Thought that was cool of him. Any way hope you all have a good turkey day. Jake |

Nice to see you post s1 hope your road trip is going well. When you get back and rested up let me know and we will have to go for a ride. If you make it back before the 11th of Dec. we are going from HHD to Kingman HD. If you can make it go to the meet up site and RSVP please. For everyone if you can make the ride on the 11th please RSVP. When I go for my meeting I am going to ask if they can pull a string and get us a lunch or something when we get down there. |

Jake, I understand about the hours bro! Maybe the toy run next sunday then? Glad to hear that you are taking Owen with you. I let TOny know that we may have to find a replacement. Didnt seem to be an issue at all. They even let me put out flyers at the front door of the dealership for the Kingman ride! That is the same day that HHD has it's anniversary and is hosting a poker run. Might suggest to everyone that we park in back this time if there is limited space up front. As far as the dealership in Kingman, I think they are pretty serious competitors with the dealer here. They may can work out something. I can call them at Kingman if you like or I can have Sammie call and work some of the magic that only women can work. Have a great Thanksgiving! Nick |

(takes a deep breath and wonders where to start) First: Sure, I'll let Sammie know when she gets up this morning. Second: The oil line and a loooong ride! So there I was at home on Thanksgiving night, minding my own business when a friend from work calls and wants to know if I will go along with him to escort his daughter from Vegas to SanDiego. She's just stated riding the sportster that she's had for a year now. I was supposed to have the weekend off, so I said why not. Now here is where everything went down hill. I had already made plans to do an oil/primary oil change on the bike Tgiving night while I was at work. I get to work and do the drain both oils and pull off the filter. Since the guys had all the workload done for the night I figure this is a good time to fix a couple of nagging oil leaks. I pull the inlet and outlet fittings from the oil pump and put teflon tape on them. When I put the inlet side fitting back in, it busted off in the pump housing with hand pressure applied!! Just about three minutes after this life altering event, my boss calls and informs me that now I Have to work saturday through monday on the 12 hour office shift. Being commited to the ride to SD already this put me in a serious dilemma. Soo.. after searching all over Vegas this morning I found the fitting at Industrial Hardware on Russell for all of a buck fifty. I finished that job around 11. We got on the road for SD by 12. The ride down was great! 350 miles later, we were at her front door. The XB worked like a charm! no oil leaks, no hiccups, just fun as heck. We helped her get unpacked and let my buddy say hos goodbyes and we headed back up the road. By now, it was dark and already getting cold. I had long johns, jeans, two shirts a flannel jacket and my riding jacket on. By the time we made our first 100 miles, I was about to fricking die! We stopped and had some coffee, warmed up and started out again. By the time we made it to State line at 1 this morning, we were both so numb it was sickening. I broke open some heat packs and stuffed my pockets with them! We spent a half hour there warming up and made the mad dash for home. I got home around 2, stood in a scalding shower for over a half hour to get my body warmed up. I went to bed around three, slep to 430 and then headed in here for work by 5. Needless to say, I am one tired puppy! On a much better note, I am soo proud of the XB! Man did that bike work like mad! I folded out the passenger pegs and layed down like a drag racer for the last 100 miles or so. We ran 90 plus and it was great. Had it been June, that would have been a really awesome trip. Anyway.. I am still on for the 5th! Where do we want to meet, so that I can make that post to all the boards. I had asked about the main dealer... will that work for everyone?? I am also still on for the 11th! catch you guys later! Nick |

Wow Nick, Glad you made it ok. I'm sure you probably didn't expect the cold, but if you do a trip like this again let me know, I have some great cold riding gear for just such a trip that I would gladly loan you. I'm going to add one more item to this collection, A helmet skirt that attaches to your full face, and runs down into you jacket, I have a few neck pieces, but think this will work better. I found it in a Snowmobile catalog. I'm also going to replace my snowmobile suit, with some pant's that will work with my touring jacket. I'm up for a ride on the 5th just let me know when and where. |

Hey Mike, Thanks! I had the hood that covered my mouth and then tucked in. That helped a lot. I ordered some leather "V-pilot" pants and are waiting on those. They will zip to my jacket. The 5th is the toy run, just waiting on folks to say where to meet. ~G~ Have a good one bro.. I am stuck at work all day! Nick |

Nick, The dirt riding went pretty well. My stepson’s riding skills are coming along nicely (might be ready for a Blast next year, but don’t tell him, or his mother). Now that it has cooled off Pat wants to go a couple times a month, so if anybody owns knobby tired motorcycles your welcome to come ride in the desert with us. Also way off the Buell subject we take our Jeeps out trail riding every few weeks. If anyone is interested let me know. At this point I’m still planning on going next Sunday. I talked to Brenda last weekend (XB12 rider) she said she would ride with us. I will call her this week to tell her about the toy run and to see if I can get an e-mail address for her. Mike |

Mike: Every citizen needs a Blast! Anyway, I'm out of rides for an indeterminate amount of time, the adjuster bolt or the case cover is jacked, so all my tranny fluid drained for me Those things are a pain to move with no tranny fluid! Anyway, I should be tearing the subframe and the case cover off Tuesday to see what's up, then finding out what parts, waiting, and reassembling. So I'll probably be out for about two weeks anyway, you guys ride safe, and don't worry, I'll still be hanging around the boards dropping my .02 occasionally. |

Ohh man, Dan! you get that thing fixed bro! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help! Everyone: I talked with Mother Road Harley in Kingman today. They will be hosting a BBQ lunch there when we arrive! They GM there was really excited that we were all coming down, especially that even some of the AZ guys might be showing as well. He said to bring any BRAG flyers and info that we want and he will help get the word out. Harley pulled their Buell dealership this year, so we are the closest one to that part of AZ now. He promised a very nice recption when we arrive. Two weeks to go! Nick |

Dan give Owen a call he might be able to help you some. Post what you find out about parts some body might be able to help you out in that dept. On a different note: If anybody has patches that they need sewen on a jacket or vest let me know I have a place that will do it and if we get enough she maybe able to cut the price for us. I am going to ask her if she can or knows where to have some made. |

The Dec. 11th ride will probably be my first or second day back on the road after I get the kitten roaring again. Sounds like it'll be fun, now I have some incentive to get the bike fixed! I was thinking tonight 'God it's sure cold lately....' big mistake. |

Just a heads up but I have to work weekends for all of December so I won't make Kingman. I would suggest dropping the Dunlops front and rear and go with Metzler Sport Tecs or Pirelli Diablo Sports. I intend to switch to the Pirelli Scorpions off the SuburbanCross (city Cross). But mine is due to the wet weather I will be dealing with this winter. |

And now for todays forecast. Overcast with no chance of riding in the foreseeable future. I was pulling the cover today and found that whoever had the bike before me was kind enough to round out 2 of the 3 torx screws holding the clutch cover on. So I have to figure out where they attach so know if I can drill them out or not. Plus I got sick today. Blah! You guys like the whining huh? Anyway, I'm most likely out for the 11th, unless I get Lance Burton over here STAT. You guys have fun ride safe and somebody bust a wheelie for the little blast that couldn't. |

Damn bro! Sorry about the run of bad luck. I feel for ya! We'll see ya when ya get back on the road. Owen is a pretty good wrench, maybe you should give him a call and see if he can give you a hand. Keep checking in with the board so you can torture yourself with all our stories. |

Dan, If you would like some help just let me know, I would gladly help you. I know a couple of tricks for these screws we/you can try before drilling. Everyone I will be at the run Sunday, but will most likely not make McDonalds. FireBolt owners, I have a Carbon Fiber chin Spoiler from Force Motor Products that was one of my samples last year. The packaging is a bit worn and dirty but the piece is new, never been on a bike. They sell for $312.95; I will let this one go for $200.00 to anyone of you. Let me know. Mike |
