The Cape Spear lighthouse... The pic didn't turn out so great, but it's a big lighthouse, makes a ton of noise, and man was it foggy.  Just a little bit of a change in the weather since I had left California. (Message edited by awprior on November 29, 2004) | ||

This is a little shack that is used by scientists to observe the little guys.  I can't imagine getting up there (this island is another big rock that is being pounded by a cold, harsh sea), much less staying there for any amount of time. Whale Tail!!!  I believe it was a family of 3 that we saw, this was the only tail that I got a pic of. Turned out pretty darn good though. I believe that the coloration of a whale's tail is like that of a human fingerprint, each one is unique. (Message edited by awprior on November 29, 2004) | ||

Well this truly does suck. Between this thread and Ferris' I have realized how little fun I am having. I got 2 darn rides in purty places this year, so I am sittin sucky in Kansas. Of course that is compensated by the fact that I got to dine with two Legends Of The Buell: Alex and Ferris. Thanks guys, You are my heros! | ||

I somehow fubar'd one of my posts... I'm headed off to Iowa in a few months to start designing and building this stuff for John Deere, so I figured I'd snap a pic and send it off to the prople I worked with. \ This was also taken at the port where the whale boat launched.  The cool part is, even way up here, there are parts on those tractors that I designed. Too cool. | ||
