when its time to replace the stock dunlops on xb12r, i was thinking of the diablos, but dealer has a deal on the scorpions, which are stock on 05.. any experience with these as compared to diablos or dunlops? |

I love 'em on my 9sx. Far better then D220's, better then MeZ4, better then M3Z6, better then D205's. Not sure about life span yet. |

Looks like the life span of the Pirellis on the 9SX is going to be at least twice that of the Dunlop 207's that were on the 9SL. They are at least as good as the Dunlops [and probably better] but lasting twice as long is definitely a good thing. |

You can get a pair of Diablo's all day for ~200. |

See similarly titled thread in Old School Buell section. I ordered my Pirelli Scorpions today from: www.dmtaonline.com $208 to my door. My local chopper shop (Central FL Choppers) will mount them as soon as they arrive. I'll report as to performance/longevity as time goes on. Frank |

How do they handle in regards to the issue wherein the Dunlop 207's stood up something fierce under braking. The Metzeler M1's fixed that problem completely for me, but they don't last long enough. Anyone care to comment on their experience as it relates to this issue and the Pirelli's? Thanks, Chris |

The standing up under braking is definately not as bad as the factory Dunlops, so long as you keep the Scorpions inflated properly. Have not tried the Diablos, so can't comment there. I don't find it objectionable at all, but I would be a lousy datapoint: I like to have to turn aggressively to... well... turn aggressively. |

Love them! Wouldn't go back to stock tires. I have about 3,000 miles on mine so far. Barely any wear shown. Even in the mid 20 degree riding...these tires perform well. (pic shows tire with 50 miles on it) |

I picked up a nail in the rear at 1,970 miles so I can't vouch for the mileage but they have amazing traction especially in wet weather. |

Slippery on the wet though. Not a good idea for street riding if one has, unlike you Ortega punk , any risk of running into wet roads. So please save 'em for a dry track day if rain is a risk. |
