The powder coating on my 04 XB12S translucid amber wheels is flaking off, you can actually see along the edge of the rim where there is air under the finish (it appears darker than the finish)anyone else have this problem ? I have not brought it to dealer yet, but I will be.}} | ||

I've only had my '04 12S for 7 weeks, and the finish on the wheels looks "crazed" - kinda crackle-finished. I noticed it, but had nothing to compare it to until today when I rode with another S like mine. He's had his a year longer, and the finish on his wheels is perfect, unlike mine. Taking it in for the 1000 service next week, plan to bring it up. | ||

The following is from ChopperBoy in the current "Marchesini Wheel" thread. Talked to Classic Coatings today....They also went on to say that Buell has subcontracted all of their painting and powdercoating to over seas firms (China). Classic Coatings was Buell's powdercoater here in Wisconsin, USA. I have no idea if your wheels were coated in China, but if they were, you can draw your own conclusions. |
