We did Newfoundland last year, let's kick off the next tour. To steal from Roger: "Deals gap is located on the boarder of TN and North Carolina(you actually cross the boarder about where the dragon ends(you cross into N.C.) Fontana Village(www.fontanavillage.com) is located on the N.C. side of the gap, actually 11 miles from the gap(on another great road) R.A. and east troy are located in wisconsin, that is north of illinois, Chicago by about 2 1/2 hours of very boring road Home coming for the past few times has taken place in leland Wi(thats the host hotel location)" Basically, hit up Deal's Gap, then head to Wisconsin. Who is in? Last summer was a blast, the company was superb. I'm in. (Message edited by awprior on November 23, 2004) |

Basically, hit up Deal's Gap, then head to Wisconsin Alex amend that to Meet up at deals gap, then head to the home coming, as a group of Buell enthusiasts from around north america Im in, and Alex, if you could please email Bill, and point him to this thread, i think i have him talked into it Can we get some dates up here? Of course not Dennis, you know brag hasnt put out the dates, so how are we going to post them, but i have some guesses RA is from 6/3 to 6/5, and if they do the same thing as last year(i hope so) than the home coming wil start on 6/1(wedensday), and that is generally a kinda boring day, so if its missed, no big deal So Deals Gap meet up should begin 5/28 - 5/31 with 6/1 being the travel day from Deals Gap to East Troy So it would be basically a 1 week trip(except for Bill and a few others) it gives people a chance to run the gap prior to home coming, we get to ride together to home coming as a group It also lets people show up to the Gap when they can, making it flexable, with in reason So Dennis you coming R |

I'd say I'm 50/50. It depends on if I decide on Sears Point/Somona in the spring. That will probably be dependant on the dates for the Colorado adventure. Basicly, I'll be at the "homecoming" no matter what happens. While I'd love to do Laguna Seca, it's too close to my aniversary (and no, she won't go). The next on my "I want to" list is Colorado. BTW...you didn't tell me you had a Zero Gravity windscreen you were selling. I "broke" mine when I moved last year. I'll have to keep a watch on your auction. |

Roger....I was just given you a little grief I'm not sure what "ideas" you're looking for. Could we make this a big loop? For those in the midwest, we meet in Chicago. Ride south to the Gap/Blue Ridge area. Spend a day or two there. Ride north through West Virginia, Pennsylvania, etc. End up in East Troy for the Homecoming. This would allow East Coaster riders to meet us along the route. Or maybe come back along the Mighty Mississippi? We should probably have a support vehicle with a trailer. That would also allow people to have someplace to stow their gear. Okay...that's all the ideas I have for now. |

Could we make this a big loop? What i learned from the trip last year, is that trying to do to much creates more problems than they are worth, meeting at the gap gives numerous people a chance to meet in a semi central location, and head into homecoming as a group, i think it would be cool Trying to do a loop, in a week, is a little much, Riding every day is fun, but there needs to be some down time, and some fun time, hence meeting at a great location, after a long ride, and than meeting in a second location for part 2 As far as a chase car, dont think that will be a problem, i suspect there will be several, makes for less stress and more fun Like i mention, i would prefer to keep it simple, when dealing with larger groups, keeping it simple helps, keeps people sane, and makes for a more relaxed and fun time Your going, and i sont wan to hear another word about it QUestion is camping, cabin, or hotel I am up for camping, but thats me, i know OTHERS have issues with it, but since all are offered at this resort, you can take your pick, and still be in walking distance from the others(its a steep walk, but a walk none the less) R |

Yeah gang if u nail down the dates I could give it a go We can not and will not nail down any date untill Buell does, this event is going to corespond with the RA event, so until Buell anounces what there going to do, were in a holding patern Be patient, Buell should be deciding anytime now R |

Mark....for planning purposes, lets say we leave GP on Friday, May 27th (evening). Spend the night in Chicago area. Leave for the Gap on Saturday. Get there sometime Sunday. Spend 2-3 days in that area. Get back to East Troy by Wednesday (June 1) evening. Attend the Homecoming event and AMA races. Back in GP on Sunday, June 5. That sounds about like as good of a plan as anybody has posted. |

I've dropped it on the wife, she never even blinked, just said ok. What a jewel. So I'm in. The RV idea is looking to be too expensive & difficult to program at the moment so I'll probably end up flying direct to Chicago, I can get a return for about $500. Now who's mad enough to lend me a Bike? Oh yeah, just to give you all something else to think about, If I can put together a Euro tour for 2006, who's interested? main problem will be getting enough bikes but you can rent HD here as a last resort. |

Looking at Mapquest I think I can swing this trip. Looks as if I have 6-8 days of hard riding averaging about 700 mile days on the ole S1. My intended route would be: St. John's-Leominster, MA (Hello Crusty) Leonminster, MA-Fontana Village Fontana Village-East Troy East Troy-Buffalo (Hello Oz) Buffalo-Edmundston, NB Edmundston, NB-Sydney, NS Back Home |

Does "giving the dog a bone" mean the same thing there as it does here? If so I don't think the wives/girlfriends will appreciate it too much. How about "Captain Dildo's Reunion Rally" Someone has the necessary picture to go with that I'm sure. |

That one is GQ Material, Newfoundland Style, Hey See the Excavator digging out the ocean in the background. How did you ever think we got out here to begin with. If your bringing Capt. Dildo to the USA I will have to get an action figure to stick to the front fender of the S1. |
