Looks like I need replacement plug wires. I went to replace my plugs (10K service) and the rear wire was such a bitch to get off the plug that the connector came off. So here is my question- I noticed the wire is resistor (carbon). I am thinking about either building a copper wire, or getting performance wires. The question is why does the xb have resistor wires in the first place? Is is to prevent interfering with the fuel injection pulses? If so, could that be the source of some of the wierd driveabilty issues with some xb's? Maybe they are running solid core plug wires? Does anyone know if HD dealers usually stock the plug wires for xb's? xbolt12 |

Does anyone know if HD dealers usually stock the plug wires for xb's? Mine does, I picked up a set Saturday afternoon. Not sure why the run the wires they do, so I stick with them, being as short as they are, I don't see how a performance wire could get ant better spark to the plug. Could be wrong though. |

I agree. The only reason I would go with copper/solid core would be that I could pull them off without them being so easily damaged. BTW, whats a good plug? I bought the split-fires, but seems like someone said they are worse that the stock plug? xbolt12 |

i have been using the 10R12. got almost ten thousand miles on the first set, would have put them right back in, but had a fresh pair handy, so i changed 'em. the old ones look like new, kept for spares. |

Disregard on these wires. The Buell coil connectors are a little proprietary and it was way too much work to get them to work. I'm sure there are better choices out there. I got these at a closeout price so it was no big deal. They work, but again, too much work involved...Odie |
