Hillbilly, consider it scheduled, just give me the date. Lots of back road stuff in a fifty mile radius of my home. James Dean's hometown of Fairmount is less than twenty from my driveway. I have a good friend in Sweetser who has a private motorcycle museum and the AMA(Academy of Model Aeronautics) headquarters and museum in Muncie, both less than twenty miles. Oh, and then there's the Key Palace Blues Club in Redkey. There's actually a bunch of cool stuff hid in the sticks around here if you know what to look for. Just ask Ferris. |

Damn, I'd loved Ferris response on that triple digit surprise. Might not be the same without two Buells runnin head to head bumpin into their rev limiters though. I'll give you a buzz on when I can get away bro, the new Hillbilly haven is nearing completion, not that a bright day wouldnt put in on hold. |

JB2's right, lots of cool stuff in the Hoosier State. Scott: Fairmount, Indiana. sorry i'm so slow with captions this time, been a busy day. |

Yes, it sure is. That digi rebel is a hot camera too. Great entry into the digital SLR relm. I am hoping to retire my Olympus E-10 for the EOS 20D in a month or so. |

Ferris - Yep, here's a link to the Panasonic. I'd love to have either of the D-SLRs that Jim mentions...but by the time you added a "lonnnnnnnng lens", you're talking serious bucks. For <$500, this FZ20 is a helluva camera. http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/panasonic/dmc_fz20-review/index.shtml |

Jerry, I figured it was Indiana. The state is very famous for their preserved covered bridges. I toured them back a long time ago on a visit to my aunt and uncles house in Rushville, Indiana (where time stopped 100 years ago). My uncle worked for GTE and used to tell the story how they removed the last crank telephone out of some little town in 1960. I guess Mayberry was a little behind the times in converting their's over to dial phone (oh, I forgot, that was TV!). |

Jim - How 'bout we join ranks and send him links to every ultra-zoom fixed lens plus every interchangable lens SLR on the market?! Hey, Ferris, if the Panasonic is too big for carrying on the Strom, consider the Canon S1-IS like Ebear's. 3.2MP, 10x optical zoom, image stabilization, all in a relatively compact package that you can get for not much over three bills! It will also take accessory lenses to extend the focal length range either wide or tele. If I recall correctly, the tele-extender takes the 35mm equivalent focal length to around 600mm! www.dcresource.com/reviews/cameraDetail.php?cam=553 Your turn, Jim. |

Dino....Think ya have a great idea there! Jerry shoudn't worry about a camera being too big, he can fit the kitchen sink if needed on that V-Strom of his. Here is a really cool Nikon (I know you have a soft spot for Nikon's Jerry). Its an 8 MP camera with an 10x optical zoom. http://www.royalcamera.com/nico888me.html |

The Nikon is indeed a wonderful camera, Jim. Ferris, at the more inexpensive end of things, Office Max currently has the Olympus C-725 for $229.99. The C-725 has 3.0 MP with a 8x optical zoom. Sorry, no image stabilization. www.cameras.co.uk/details/olympus-c-725.cfm |

One of my biggest gripes is time between pushing button and when the digital camera actually takes the picture.Like to have a bit better speed.Suggestions? |

How about we move all the Camera talk over to Wordless Out West where, which is where one of the cameras there fits your need FMJ This way we can get back to our regularly scheduled dose of JH pics and story Since much of that thread inadvertantly got subverted by me and still has some great out west photos that I intend to add to this week. |

Hey Wycked, we're not keepin' old FB from posting his further adventures...we're just killing time 'til he gets his sorry in gear. That said, FMJ, Wycked has a point. There is some information on "Wordless out West" about some new, faster cameras, as well as information about where to find shutter lag data on cameras in which you may be interested. For a compact, fast, highly capable camera, check out the Sony DSC-W1. |

Just be aware that sufficient warning time must be adhered to so the unsuspecting and innocent population of CA and surrounding states has adequate time to evacuate should these 2 very unstable elements be brought in to close proximity.( basically if you are coming out for a ride I want time to get there--Court.) |
