Another local Buell owner and I were talking about starting a BRAG group in Western Jersey. We are going to discuss it with the local dealer, Williams HD/Buell in Lebanon. Any tips from from you BRAG members? |

Do it, it's easy. Going through a re-charter right now since Buell yanked our sponsoring dealership. |

You could talk to some of the regionally local folks in my area who may or may not be doing just that if my speculations are anything close to being correct. Pretty much you just need valid dealership support and go from there. BRAG has a packet of materials on the subject that the dealership should be able to acquire with just an email or telephone call. |

Jersey I'd suggest you get to the Storem Front pages, look at post counts to determine, at least, who's the most communicative, and post your question there -- different dealers participatre in wildly varying degrees, with an equally wide cross-section of member happiness (often not correlated at all, btw) . . . .. . but, as has been drawn to my attention in the past, my opinions are generally worth what you've paid for em! |

Although I haven't personally gone through the process of starting a BRAG club myself, I did see what it took to get my local club going. I know this has been discussed before but the key factor is having someone working in the sponsoring dealership who is willing and able to be an Advocate for the club members. This person must have some influence over the dealership owner/manager(s) especially when it comes to club events like Battletrax or club rides to National BRAG events, contacting new Buell purchasers about BRAG, and even getting Buell parts and merchandise stocked in the store. This person also has to be a Buell enthusiast not planning to relocate anytime soon. Mike. |

I've been talking to the owner of Space Coast Harley about starting a club in our area. Just waiting to see what happens from there. |

Lakeland and Gainesville are the only 2. I'm hoping this works out. Just need to find out who the members are in the Brevard area to get this going. (Message edited by cataract2 on November 19, 2004) |

You might post this question to the Main forum on here. Jose Q. has been active with the one at Ft. Washington HD/Buell in Maryland. What it takes it DEDICATION from many folks to make it work. |

We will be looking at the possibilities as soon as we move to "Destination Daytona" this coming year! |

this past summer I attempted to start a BRAG group sponsored by Wolverine HD/Buell in Clinton TWP Michigan, Michigan's LARGEST HD dealer. I had full support of the dealership and the owner to the point he would even allow other sport bike riders, Ducati, Aprila, Triumph and others. I managed to gather the names of 17 Buell owners and riders and 3 Ducati riders and 1 Honda CBR. I had enough riders for the dealership to say YES! and allow the group to form. I then went back to my Riders (all of which were interested in forming a group)And NONE of them were interested in taking on roles of leadership. You must have a strong President, VP, Treasurer, and Secretary in order to run one of these clubs. None of my riders were interested in any of these positions. My Suggestions go visit your Sponsoring Dealership, and get the BRAG Charter Manual and READ it, I read it from cover to cover while sitting in an airport for 4 hours. Make sure going into it your riders understand PARTICIPATION will be required. Best of Luck, I might try mine again, getting everyone gathered this winter with hopes of forming the group this coming spring. |

Well it doesn't look good for a BRAG group sponsored by the local HD here in West Jersey. I spoke to a salesman at the HOG get together at the dealership this week. I got a very cryptic answer suggesting that I try back again in 2 or 3 months. I can only surmise that they may be considering dropping their Buell franchise. |

Just got home from William's and it's a go. I spoke to Bobby the owner and he gave me the ok that he would sponsor a group. The Phone calls to Milwaukee will start on Monday and I already have a copy of the By-Laws. So if anyone that reads this and your in central N.J., William's Harley Davidson and Buell is going to start a B.R.A.G. Group. We will need 4 primary officers, Director, Asst. Director, Secretary and treasurer. If you want more info or would like to join the group feel free to e-mail me. |
