I've had the Drummer and now have the D&D.The Drummer is slightly louder then the Race kit pipe but not much. The D&D is twice as loud as either of the two pipes.

The Jardine is loud, so earplugs are a definite requirement. Sounds awesome a idle and accel. Pops rapidly on hard deceleration. I love the sound, but it is loud with a low pitch and I've heard more than one person comment that they thought a Duc with aftermarket exhaust was approaching until they see it's a Buell. I never got any approval from the rice-rocket or Duc crowd at Mothers on top of Palomar until the pipe was installed and now I'm getting a lot of complements on how great it sounds. My buddy with Termignoni's on his Duc 748 used to say he couldn't ever hear my bike. On our first ride after putting the Jardine on his comment was "I can't hear my bike anymore". A guy on an 636 I rode with said "Man that thing is loud" and laughed approvingly after heading up the mountain both in front of and behind me.

I do have the quiet core insert which I am going to try (I'll use it on longer trips) and I will post how it sounds with it installed.

The Jardine is about as loud as the race kit or the Drummer. Those three all fall in the bracket as how loud they are.But sound just alittle different. The D&D and Force are the loud ones.

for what it's worth, i saw a thread on the drummer site that mentioned he was building a 'loud mother' version as part of a customer request...so i'm guessing from that thread that you can get as loud as you want....good luck...

ciao,

The loud mother as you call it LOL is about 15% louder thats not all that much and possibly some loss in the bottom end.

The drummer with half the packing is at least 15% louder, and another one that I know of was made with no packing which was received very well. I sincerely doubt the "possible loss in the bottom end" Dana, I feel the performance to be exactly the same or better.

If it was me, I'd go with a D+D but I like loud!
Here's my take on the pipe debate.
First off you need to decide what sound you want, some like loud, some don't.
Performance is pretty much the same, you're going to gain a few HP and lbs here or there. For most of us it doesn't really matter.
Then you need to think what "look" do you like?
Some slip ons look like other brand mufflers, some look like a stocker, some look like nothing else out there.

Next comes price,
With prices ranging from 252.95 to 595.00(list prices, not Badweb from Dave prices!) this is a big consideration for most of us.

Quality?
Which one is going to break or not?
Do I want/need a ecm or techlusion box to make it run?
Race air filter?

It comes down to, you gotta decide what's right for you.
Call me anytime if you need advise, prices,my thoughts or to place an order.

A couple more things to add here.

Some allow the use of a jack under the muffler, others don't. If you don't have stands, you may want to consider that.

Some allow you to repack, others don't (although they may never need it anyway).

The jardine allows you to put the outlet on either the left or right hand side.

Also, There is a "Race" Jardine and a "Street" Jardine. The Race is the loud one for sure. When ordering, you must specify which one you want.

Ahah! I have the race model (the outlet is huge). Guess that explains the loudness.
