I am planning on changing my oil on my XB12R. The local shop gave me four quarts of the synthetic 20w50. I realized after looking at the shop manual that they recommend "Sportstrans" transmission fluid for the transmission case. I called the dealer and they said the 20w50 will work fine. Does anyone have any thoughts? |

Syn-3 is approved by the factory to be used in the transmission/primary instead of Sportstrans as well as engine oil applications on all Buell models. |

Synthetic is much better for XB's than SportTrans. The Shop Manual just doesn't reflect the latest school of thought on this. Mike. |
