How's it sound? Is it loud? I have a D&D right now, which I am selling, and I just bought a new force system which should be even louder. |

Just got mine installed too. Me likey too! Very deep burble at idle and sounds great when you get on it. Lots of poppin' and cracklin' on deceleration but I don't mind it one bit. It sounds angry! |

a mile or two off, (get on it). i may be wrong but i think the popping is a lean condition on decelaration, i was going to alter the air box a bit than have the shop do what ever they do reset or remap whatever, havent noticed performance change |

install time about 30min i cheated figured i would not put stock pipe back so i cut 1/2" out of stock mounting bracket so i did not have to remove oil lines i did not put chin spoiler back on like the looks with out it. i saved the 1/2" part i cut out of the stock bracket so i could weld back in if needed |

Jardine makes great pipes and makes the best HP. I loved the one on my XB. But they are plenty of people here you will tell you that a rewelding stock pipe for $450 plus dollars is the only way to go. |

john as usual you you got it wrong....its $400 and the jardine does not make the most but them facts and truth have never been your strong suit....... plus some like pipes that break and stuff....then some just like pipes that don't see ya'll....I can't stand the fight anymore.....truth means nothing here anymore |

FYI, Jardine has released the new mounting brackets for the chin cowl. They've modified the left one with an additional tab that picks up one of the primary cover bolts, and modified the right one with a tab that picks up the front exhaust hanger bolt. So neither bracket is a cantilever now as they were before. Will it keep them from breaking? Good chance of it. The brackets could be a little nicer looking, but I think they'll last now. I've got a couple of each (AL, TI, CF) in stock with the new brackets. Al (Message edited by al_lighton on November 07, 2004) |

This will be my only 2 cents on this whole pipe OPINION ordeal: You will buy what you can afford, what you like, what suits you, what your experiences have told you is the way to go, and you will all go your own way. Once again, the whole deal with "riding what your friends ride and changing what your friends change" is coming into play, no matter if we all admit or vocalize it here. If you are riding an XB in this country, no matter where, then someone decided you could make rational desicisions based on a minimum age requirement (debateable as well), so make your own decisions guys. Stop the pointless, trivial arguing, and come to the realization we all have opinions and experiences that differ, period. I did, over a dam oil filter question/opinion, and now believe there is someone here who thinks I tried to pull the whole "I am in the service" thing, which I did not, to defend MY OPINION! Debates are best left to the electoral college, and if you dont like them, then join the college and change them, but dont argue your time away because you have different opinions or experiences them someone else. Ask yourselves, do I want to pervay my experiences or opinions, or do I want to be THE know-it-all, who may not? Confucious (spelling?) said, "It is sometimes better to remain silent and be thought stupid, then to speak and remove all doubt." Hmmmmmmmmm My 2.2 cents is all this is Bruce P.S. Makes the best HP .Where do you get that?? Have to agree here -- I've seen the dyno plot of one of the racers at my dealer between stock and Jardine. He LOST 2 HP going to the Jardine... But, it SOUNDS nice... Still prefer the Drummer sound though (Message edited by 2k4xb12 on November 07, 2004) |

I wanted a Drummer...really I did. I liked everything that was said about it and I've heard Ski's. I heard XB9grl's Jardine on the same trip. I also needed to remember my budget. The difference in performance most likely wouldn't be perceivable to me but the costs involved would. I got my new rear Pirelli and the Jardine for less than the Drummer. I couldn't be happier with it. |

i may be wrong but i think the popping is a lean condition on decelaration For popping, you need three things. Oxygen, fuel and a spark. If the condition is lean, no unburned fuel will end up in your exhaust to cause a pop. I'm glad to hear you like your pipe. Enjoy it and ignore the rest. |

It's been over a year now and I still love my Drummer. Best torque curve and best sound in my personal opinion. No broken brackets, spoiler fits perfect, no angry neighbors and I can still jack it up under the muffler. Plus if I ever get hassled for noise by the police, there's a stock Buell part number on it. |
