DAY EIGHT, cont. hey, am i the only one who's starting to get a little bugged by Fozzie's type-A personality??? (cool bullet holes in the sign, tho, especially if you like dotting your o's and crossing your t's...) (Message edited by jerry_haughton on October 24, 2004) |

DAY EIGHT, cont. Fozzie - like ALL kids, i guess - likes riding in the front. gotta admit, at least he's a happy little goof. note the telltale signs of rain-riding on the windshield, and the very modest beginnings of bug splat jambalaya. more to come. sorry so few pix today - needed to cover some ground, and much of it was in the muck. if it's any consolation, we spent the night in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, and the most exciting element of our evening was the fact we got to do laundry. our steaks - at some little probably-used-to-be-cool-but-now-is-a-dump diner on Route 66 - were thin, pathetic and sad, and, alas, no Fat Tire in sight. well, there's always tomorrow. sleep. shower. ride. ride. TOTAL MILEAGE FOR THE DAY: 405.7 (Message edited by jerry_haughton on October 24, 2004) |

couldn't agree more. DAY NINE, cont. it's kind of absurd, really, yet we were both excited to be here, and there was a steady stream of fellow Cad Ranchers coming and going who apparently felt the same way. i (being me) had to, um, circumvent the gate and actually ride out to the Ranch, all in the interest of photojournalistic integrity, you understand. DAY NINE, cont. it was a challenge getting the Strom's wide handlebars thru the purposely narrow gate - i had to have JB2's help, both coming and going - but i think this shot was worth the stress. (Message edited by jerry_haughton on October 24, 2004) |

DAY NINE, cont. several vans pulled up while we were there, and out poured several flocks of children. as an adult read scriptures from the Bible, each youngster was appointed to spray paint a verse on one of the Cads. (Message edited by jerry_haughton on October 24, 2004) |
