Going to change to Synthetic fluids (Motor & Gear oil) Going with Mobil 1 15w50 motor oil and 75/90 rear oil, also Mobil 1. Going to use a K&N oil filter. I'v always taken my XB9 in for dealer service, but now I'm going to a local shop that is great, my oil and filter is no problem. Just need to know how much oil (motor & gear) I'll need to take to them? As you can tell I never change my own. I'm also gettin them to look at my front brake shutter. I remember the posts on here about it before and I have a print out somewhere of what needs done before looking at new pads, and rotor. |

2.4 litres for the engine (including what you put in the oil filter - see below). .95 litres for the tranny (and don't overfill it! i.e. don't put in a full litre!!!!!). Make sure they fill the oil filter half full before installing it! |

Make sure they torque the bolts on the primary cover to the factory specifications. It is REALLY easy to strip the bolts when replacing the clutch & primary chain inspection covers. It happened to my XB9s at a HD dealer who did not check the manual. |
