Karl, I called you Saturday night, but your son (?) said you were in Wisconsin. If that wasn't your son at your house, you better have a talk with your daughter!! |

Is anyone interested in riding to Peoria this Sunday 10/17 to attend National BRAG Regional Meeting from noon 'til 3:30pm? To paraphrase the official letter from BRAG, "The goal is to get together for a relaxing but productive afternoon with fellow Buell owners and the dealers that support us to talk about how to improve the BRAG experience for all......come find out what other clubs are doing". It's free and open to anyone. The open forum agenda is as follows: 12:00pm Lunch on BRAG (if you reserved, sure hope they have extra!) 12:30pm Introductions Ground Rules BRAG Club Successes BRAG Club Challenges BRAG Club Resources Brainstorm how to make BRAG better than ever 03:30pm End Meet 8:00am at R-PLACE truckstop, intersection I-80 and RT-47 (Morris, IL). Ride backroads along south side of river west to Ottawa, then Rt-71 through Starved Rock. Continue RT-71 southwest to RT-26 in Hennepin. South on RT-26 to Peoria along EAST side of Illinois River to Peoria. This is a great ride through all types of roads, with generally light traffic and great scenery. Sunday weather forecast for Chicago and Peoria is mostly sunny, 20% chance precipitation, 45 low / 58 high. Not too bad. I plan to ride unless weather gets ugly. Greg indicated his interest, too. Anyone else? If so, post here so we have an idea of who to look for (and how long to wait) before departing Morris, IL in the morning. I can be reached via mobile anytime (except when riding) if you want more info. (708) 373-5445. |

Here's the latest status regarding ride to Peoria tomorrow, Sunday 10/17 (see my original post above from Friday for more details, but note change in rendezvous time). CHANGE IN PLANS: Meet at R-PLACE (I-80 and Rt-47) at 8:30am, not 8:00am as posted above. Hopefully the extra 30 minutes will give people (like me!) more time to get to R-PLACE. This will still allow plenty of time to get to Peoria. Weather still looks good, partly sunny, 45 low /60 high temps, 20% chance of precip (not during the day). The wind and 0% chance of rain tonight should have the roads nice and dry tomorrow for the ride. Here's who going so far: me Greg Paul (on new CityX) Karl (definite maybe) Anyone else????? Come on and ride with us. See you at 8:30am |

National BRAG meeting in Peoria was interesting, and confirmed there are many common issues shared across all clubs. I can tell you we are very well supported by the dealer and very lucky compared to many other clubs (and people without clubs) out there. A big thanks to IL-HD, Dave, Sam, Mike, Christine, Speedy, etc. I'll share more info at our next meeting 11/4/04. Equally satisfying was the ride home from Peoria along the river and through Starved Rock. The temps, scenery and pace were just great. We took the same route there (but the cold grabbed much of our attention in the morning). I pity those without heated clothing Thanks to Greg for joining and Coolice for joining on the way home. |

Glad you made it home safe Fly. It's great to meet Badweb riders. Was a nice ride home and it was actually warm enough to enjoy. Keep in touch for more short rides this fall yet. The gps makes exploring easy! And ya a BIG THANKS to all the Buell dealers that support us to add a little more enjoyment to riding. |

Here are the nominations for 2005 Club Officers as determined from our November meeting: Director: Curt Ringwald Assistant Director: Kirk Bastek Secretary: Greg Holman Treasurer: Frank Lesh Basically, there was no contest for any position. In fact, I might say there was outright reluctance! Roger bowed out, so Greg was nominated for the Secretary position (hey, you pick up an XB for dirt cheap...you're gonna serve ). Frank was talking on his cell phone and didn't even know what happened ! Somehow I was coerced into doing this again for another year . Elections will be held at our next meeting, December 2. So if anyone else is interested in being considered for any position, be at the next meeting and be added to the nomination list for the final vote. |

As fate would have it, I've got time to ride this weekend. Is anyone interested in riding either Saturday or Sunday? I would love to ride the Kettle Moraine WI area for a sport ride on those fine roads before the season ends, or go south to Starved Rock area. Or anything! Post here if interested in riding, I'm up for anything. My mobile phone is 708 373-5445. |

Bomber, I got your number. Time to be determined, but does meeting at Half Moon on Sunday sound reasonable? If so, can you guestimate approximate meeting times that you may be interested in? |

Paul, that new track really looks nice. Too bad the cost for admission is so high. They say a few WERA races are scheduled for 2005. I'd like to to (someday) take a ride out there to check the place out. Let me know if you're interested. I still haven't put all my bikes away for the winter yet. |

Hey Curt, I've only seen the info. on the web. Does sound cool. I'd really like to see some or all of the races there next year. Where did you see a schedule? The new XB is tucked away for the season. Looks like snow tomorrow anyway. As soon as warmer days return I'll contact you or anyone here that would like to take a look, site says to contact them for "tours" we should at least do that and maybe see what they have to offer for organized clubs. I wouldn't expect anyone one of us has that kind of cash to join. |

.......so last night I get home from work and think I'd like to make one last late-night sortie up Sheridan Road to Waukegan and back to get my fix before the snow arrives and shuts the fun down for a while. It's 8:30pm, the temperature is hovering above dew point, the traffic is minimal - so I decide to suit up and go for it. As I'm dressing I ponder all the deserted roadways, curves and lack of police radar I will soon be enjoying one last time before the winter. 15 minutes later (!) I lift the garage door and flip on the light. What the forgot that I was draining oil and prepping all my bikes and none of them were immediately rideable. The party is over........winter is here. |
