Honda's pit was also busy, here they are putting in a new 600RR engine from the crate into the bike.

For the really good racing shots you'll have to go elsewhere, but these are the ones I got Mat Mladin going into the pits, hard on the brakes trying to slow down to 50 mph, the maximum pit speed. Mat at speed, he ran off the track during race 1 and jumped the start on race 2, but he overcame these mistakes and did what he had to do to win his fifth AMA Superbike Crown, congratulations! |

Shawn Higbee, he diced with Mike Smith for most of both races. I talked to him after the race and he said that the fringes that Mike Smith has on his leathers are actually quite distracting and he caught himself looking at them instead of where he needed to be looking! He's also looking into getting a team together to go Formula Extreme racing on his employer's* motorcycle for 2005. *He works for the company that built your bike... |

Miguel DuHamel is THE MAN, winning all three races he was in on Sunday, both Superbike Races (Race 1 with a thrilling last lap pass on Aaron Yates) and mostly running away with the second Superbike and Formula Extreme Races |

Aaron Yates, finished second in both races, a good finish to a horrendous season for himself. |

Eric Bostrom passing Jeremy Toye during Saturday Practice. Eric tried to race, but was still too sore, so he withdrew and left it up to his teamates to carry the Ducati Flag. |

LOL here are even more pics Regis Laconi and Lorenzo Lanzi at speed. The announcer called him Lorenzo Llamas at one point!I got a chance to talk to them just a bit, just basically told them thanks for coming to the US for just this event. Lanzi said he "hoped" to be racing in Europe next year, but the Ducati Austin Truck already has his name on it under Eric's so maybe he'll be here. |

During the second Superbike race, Ben Bostrom had a great scrap going with the Ducatis during the early stages of the race.

Michael Barnes on the Kosco FX XB. He and Doug got awesome starts. Barney ran as high as third for the first few laps, got passed by Reg Pridmore on the brakes in turn one, then had something happen to the bike while running in fifth and did not finish. Bummer. Mike Ciccoto ran consistent laps the whole race, and he had a great battle with Chris "Opie" Caylor for fourth place and was able to hold him off at the finish.

Here's a couple from the Supersport race Ben Spies, fun to watch if he gets his elbow down along with his knee Michael Barnes on his Privateer R6. He finished 9th in the race and was the Top Privateer in the Supersport Championship. Great job. (Message edited by josé_quiñones on October 11, 2004) |

It was a great time!!! Here's Jason Disalvo after winning Saturday's Superstock race He won both the Superstock and Supersport races, he'll be a terror if they let him on the Superbike next year, he's really short, almost jockey like. |

The last two shots are how you know the season is over Somehow I don't think Larry Pegram's team was this disorganized at the beginning of the season. It was a great time, the weather was great, the racing was great, everybody I hung out with was great (Thanks NED & DAD for your hospitality, Johnnie, Jim, etc. Thanks to the Buell teams for putting up with my silly stuff and see you at Daytona next year! |

Excellent Josè. Thanks. However ... got passed by Reg [Pridmore] on the brakes While Reg is still super fast and smooth, it most likely was Jason Having seen Jason demonstrate entering turn 1 at Loudon up close, I'm not surprised. Fenomenal brake and clutch control. Speaking of Buell racing. The Buell race team from Susquehana Valley HD & Buell were at Pocono Raceway for the TPM track days this Sunday. Sweet bike and a great crew. Rider Art Diaz and mechanic Roger spent all day helping riders dial in their suspension. They did very well in FUSA this year, and are looking forward to more racing with less wrenching next year. Good to see more Buells out there. Also got to meet Nate Kern, who currently races Boxer Cup in Europe. Very pleasant young man, with his head on right and a good attitude. He mentioned that he was hoping to race Buells next year. Didn't want to go into details though, since things were still being discussed. Good stuff. Henrik |

Barney had the oil line fitting going into the motor get a crack at the base of one of the threads, which sprayed a fine mist of oil on the muffler, causing smoke. The factory Suzuki guys ran over to the AMA to bitch, and Barney got black-flagged. It was just too cool when on the next lap the Suzuki motor exploded on the straightaway with horrible grinding noises! Haha, there is justice after all! |
