I'm suprised the 12 airbox is not on there... Just picked up my frame pucks this morning, will stick them on tonight. Thanks F&S Buell! |

Reep, the airbox is considered motor parts, whereas the items listed are motor accessories. The bulletin I have doesn't list motor parts. |

The pucks were the FIRST thing I bought for my new 'bolt. Went to the dealership the morning after I picked the bike up. |

DJ, did you make sure to wipe the frame area down REALLY well with rubbing alcohol before putting the pucks on. The reason is to get the surface clean but more importantly its to get the WAX coating off so the adhesive isn't attaching to the wax instead of the powder coating. You should be able to go to an auto paint/autobody store and get some good 3M double-sided tape and try that. Make sure you clean it REAL well....Odie (Message edited by odie on October 10, 2004) |

Agreed Odie. Remember DJ, mine already went through a 20mph lowside and are still firmly attached |

My setup in prep for engine removal...You can't see the amount of space under the wheel but there is about 3 inches which was plenty. I can Lift it as much as 2 feet front and rear. Those are the framework for a set of Gorilla Shelves from Costco/Sam's Club that are rated at 1000lbs capacity. |

Wycked...looks like the shelf is bowing. What kinda tires are you running? |

I need to run a support between the centerpoints of the spars up top, that is the bowing your seeing, inward not downward. The setup has also been moved as is a few times several feet. Conti M-Force Radials. Going to replace the rear with a Road Attack until I have enough to replace both front and Rear together. Very little wear on the front is noticable. |

Rebuilding your bike Wycked? Nice to see if so. Sorry to hear of your lowside. The frame pucks got some high praise this weekend. In fact they will soon be on my shopping list after the comments about them to me. Does the Xenon Lamp fit the R models? How much better than stock is it? |

Was getting ready to pull the motor for the trans lock-up but may have found the culprit Unibear. Once I get a new clutch installed I will be able to check. It also turns out Charlieboy ran into the same trans problem yesterday so I am going to eagerly await the diagnosis for his as well. |

Put the frame pucks on this weekend, went on very nicely. These things have some serious engineering behind them. They have an impact absorbing core, bonded to an outside covering, and a pretty complicated shape to match the frame. Very nicely done! Up close, I think they improve the looks of the 9sx. From a distance, they break up the nice clean lines of that long frame/swingarm, which I miss a little. All in all though, a good addition. They also keep a lot more wind off my thighs, which is another big plus. Between the handguards and the frame pucks and a nice First Gear insulated jacket, it was a reasonably comfortable ride to work (20 miles highway, 40 degrees F) this morning. |

Just when it seemed that there was no good reasonably priced way to put sliders (that will survive a crash at speed) on an xb, Buell comes up with the answer! Just another reason to appreciate these bikes. I suppose I should also give Tat credit, for his idea was first. The problem is they weren't easily removeable. Just my $.02! xbolt12 |

Turns out I didn't have the same trans problem. If you have big feet, be careful how much you drop the shift lever. As you adjust it down, it brings the little tierod inward. When trying to downshift, the tierod was hitting the primary case. Simple fix, stupid me! Anyway, sucks for us big footed peeps... I have to lift my foot to downshift. |

Hey Charlie how about shortening the lever itself? |

Cut and drill. You can get toe pegs at any of the dirtbike shops. |

Ziptab over on ATC switched his shifter to the extra hole in the primary to make room for his big feet. I'm sure he'd share how and what he did with you. Dave |

All ya gotta do is cut the adjuster tube so it's shorter. Then change holes. You can even use the same bolt. |

I'm glad to see the pucks selling well, they have been sorely needed. I am a fan of the Traction Grips, too. I wonder where Chrome Heel Guards fall on the list... |
