Trust me...I would rather have an Emergency Belt Repair Kit than a Valid Point for a lot of reasons. |

ok i concede the rotational inertia argument. the belt IS lighter. the stock steel countershaft sprocket however weighs 2lb 12 oz, compared to a 21 tooth steel 530 pitch sprocket @ 1lb 4oz. as to drive efficiency nothing comes close to a chain. just go push a belt drive around on flat ground, all that resistance is the belt, not wheel bearings, not the transmission. its the belt. when it breaks, and you have to push you will be amazed at how easy it is to push your XB sans belt. please note this is not a religious issue for me. these are just my own observations, and i am completely aware that i may well be mistaken and/or entirely full of ..... |

Dean-o what problems are you having with Stopping? Is it soft at the lever? Since I followed the method of pulling the bleed and banjo bolts, wrapping with teflon tape, then rebleeding the system I haven't had any problems at all with my fronts. My rear is still the same, but I quit playing with it. |

Wow...I feel better knowing my bike will be easier to push to a dealer or into a cellular reception area sans belt regardless how far it is. Just what a 56 year old with high blood pressure and a nasty temper wants to hear. LOL Oh well, have to admit that pushing the X1 has to be easier than pushing my Wide Glide. |
