For those of you who have completed the task.

1. How difficult was it? Really?

2. Do I need to have an electronics degree to do this?

3. Will I have fab anything out of the ordinary? Other than new mounting places and things of the such, those are expected.

I am pretty mechanically inclined, but I like to cover my bases before taking on a project like this. Any input you could give would be more than appreciated. Trying to figure out what to expect. Such as the little things.

It's always the little things.

It's here somewhere.
Pictures and everything.
Pretty straight forward.
I think the only thing that wouldn't fit were the tail light wires, weren't long enough, easy fix.
The rest is just R parts.
Sub frame, plastics, lights, ect.
Daves may have a list of parts you need.
Kevin (think Drummer) did it before also, said it was pretty easy.

goto the articles section. It's not very detailed, but then it's not a complex task. If your contemplating doing it you're probably smart enough to figure it out. Forget the electronics degree, you just need to be good at jigsaw puzzles. You will need to extend 3 wires for the tail light assy. Some of the 'S' stuff fits over, so you only need the 'R' specifics...

I just purchased everything from Dave S at Appleton to do the conversion. Sent me EVERYTHING I needed. Looks like it wont be too difficult of a job, hope to have it done this weekend. If you un hook the battery, will the TPS on the RACE ECM need to be RE-set? or will it hold the setting. I just installed the full race kit, and the bike is at the dealer having the TPS set right now.

It'll be OK, just take the battery out first, and make it the last thing you replace. You'll be good to go.

Right on. Here I am wondering if I was getting in over my head. Doesn't sound like it. I think I'll get along just fine.

That was another thing I was going to ask about was the TPS. Guess I'll just follow Glitch's advice.

Okay, well, I guess it's decided. Gonna save up some scratch and order the stuff from DaveS here in a few weeks.

Thanks for all your input guys!
