I know Dave can get me replacement clutch plates, but I am wondering what else is out there? Who knows of any aftermarket clutches for the XB's? Thanks |

Barnett isn't listing anything for the XB's, that was the FIRST place I looked before asking Dave about the stock clutch I did however email them and ask |

As far as I know there is no difference between the clutch fibers & steels from 94up sportsters & Buells and the XB setup....Energy One MFG. 1-877-525-8824 ask for Kent..Half the price of Barnett and a quality product! |

I agree with 1320, I am almost positive I have seen a listing for XB's...I'll look around today...Odie |

The above post also goes for Blast models..although they will only use about half the fibers and steels... I've got a friend that hopped up his Blast to about 50hp and just swapped out a 1200 Buell clutch basket.. |

If that is the case I wonder if it would be an instock item at the dealership... |

Barnett clutch kit, friction and steels part number SK-15 in their system for XB9's but are the same for the XB12's. |

I have been told by some trusted sources that the stock clutches are better than the Barnett's. One being a LSR racer with a very hot Sportster, who also has an XB I believe. |

i have been running a barnett " extra plate kit" with a heavy duty spring in hot rod sportster for 4 years with no problems. i beat the snot out of this one, and it is tough. dont know for certain if it will fit you basket though. comparing part numbers from 98 sportster and 04 XB, i see that the steel and friction plates are the same part number, and the release parts are the same, but the springs, and the pressure plate and clutch basket are all different. the xb 12 spring is stronger and will go in the 9, for a bit more grip and lever effort. good luck with the project, and do let us all know your result. |
