That was with the factory race kit immediately after it came out (late 2003). Now the bike's got a Drummer and drilled 12 airbox. Should be a little more powerful. I'm hoping to get back out to Milan Dragway next Wednesday if at all possible. Hardest thing is launching this damned beastie. A 52" wheelbase and 60+ ft/lbs of torque do not make for easy first gears. |

Darthane that is a very respectable time. Thanks for the info. I always wondered what these bikes could run in the real world and not the corrected magazine times. |

I'm convinced that with enough practice I could pull a sub-12 second quarter mile out of it (without wheelie bars). My response times and 60' times were terrible, but once I got going, the bike gets up to speed QUICK. Lots of fun, and even if the UJMs are faster, the V-Twin's got some serious soul ripping down the strip. |

I took my XB12R to the local 1/8th mile track last thursday. My first run was a 8.375 at 90mph. The other runs sucked. One I popped a wheelie trying to launch to hard, I let off the throttle and as soon as I hit the ground I hit the throttle causing another wheelie! I think I could get into the 7.90s with practice. Those things are just such a bear to launch hard. One thing though, don't use the clutch to shift. Just put pressure on the shifter right before you're ready to shift and let off the throttle a bit and she'll go right into gear. I used to always miss 2nd until I started that. Anybody else run a 12? |

If you put in broke belt into the bad weather search engine and toggle it to AND You will find lots of posts telling about broken belts. There were a lot of broken belts before a service notice went out to the HD dealers telling the mechanics not to twist or pry the belts. |

a friend of mine is a wrench @ the local hd dealer he mentioned the bulletin about twisting when removeing a belt. i changed a flat a few weeks earlier perhaps i weekened the belt by being to rough. i used to think belts wore like steel... guess not. @ $150.00 a pop they should put themselves on. |

Well last night was my first night. I was just going to watch and I said what the hell. I ran a 13.55@94.97 cause I don't know how to launch myself yet. The second run didn't register for some reason but I did a little better. This can be very addicting!!! I had a big grin all night long. |

THAT'S HOW I FELT UNTIL THE BELT WENT. I'M GOING BACK AS SOON AS I REPLACE THE BELT. I THINK TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO LAUNCH IS GOING TO BE AS MUCH FUN AS GOING FAST WHEN YOU DO. |

Too busy around the house. I haven't even ridden anywhere except work and back. But the plumber will be here tomorrow and then the bathroom can finally [begin] to be finished! |
