Jinance, well, it's currently red, but she saw CJ's friend's purple Blast "Grape Juice". And wanted a purple one. Ebay here we come... And I found a full set of purple body work for under $100 It's soon going to be the one eyed flying purple people eater |

BadS1. She really does enjoy it. I'm just giving her some initial lessons. Next spring, she'll be doing the MSF course at WCTC. She did dump it once. But not terribly bad. Bruised her ego more than anything. The Blast came thru with flying colors. Just like it's supposed to, it died immediately when dropped! The only casualty was the right turn signal lens. She is actually doing much better than I thought she would! That Blast is *SUCH* a good bike to learn on! I just can't stress that enough. |

Steve, Purple huh? I might be able to get my wife to ride it if I got purple plastic for mine :-) Right now its the same color as your wife's (which for some strange reason Buell calls Orange rather than Red). It's susposed to cut off when dropped? I dropped a blast when I took the Riders Edge course. I remember being glad that it had cut off as I was laying under it, but I didn't know that was a design feature. I too removed a turn signal, and a belt as well :-) |

Steve, excellent I'm glad she's learning and the Blast really is a good bike to learn on !! And they do survive being dropped really well, don't ask me how I know !! Looking forward to her riding with us next year on her "purple" Blast !! Dull/Donut, I'm not even commenting on that discussion, but am glad the bike is okay !! CJ |

J, yeah, I think all the "newer" Buells have bank angle sensor to cut the ignition if tipped over too far. CJ, we've already got a sitter lined up for the October meeting, so she'll be there at least And she does plan on going on rides with the Brag group next year, as does my brother on his blask S3T. The Wife's brother also wants a blast now. I betcha I could get him to join too Ever since we've gotten the Buells, people wanting them have been coming out of the woodwork... Several people at my brother's workplace want one now. The more the merrier, eh? And it was great, the 'lil guy kept telling the wife "Mommy, you did it!" while riding around the parking lot (Message edited by Steve_mackay on September 27, 2004) |

We will leave at 11:00 to ride out to Pine Bluff, eta is 11:30-12:00 Probably hang out in Pine Bluff for 1 hour and then head to Leland. I will be packing some Buell product CDs for those of you that don't already have one and to hand out to the unsuspecting! So, one last time, who's going? Who's meeting us in Madison? Who's meeting us in Pine Bluff? Who's meeting us in Leland? Please go to the thread in the Quickboard to reply. PS There are still openings for the track day at Blackhawk on Monday the 4th. Call me if you're interested. Dave (Message edited by daves on September 28, 2004) (Message edited by daves on September 28, 2004) |

CJ, My brother and I *MIGHT* go on the crud run. The wife most likely wont be going. Finding a sitter for early Sun morning is tough, and the combined heft of our fat a**es both of us on the S3T, is a bit much for a long ride Maybe I'll get her to go get her temps today, and see if she is brave enough to take the plunge and ride with us It's still a maybe at this point, depending on weather. I *REALLY* need a better pair of gloves before riding long distances in the really cold weather, like I'm sure it's going to be Sunday morning. I still commute everyday on the S3T, but my commute is only 4 miles each way Now, I thought we had some plans to meet up at Hals at 8:15 or so, according to the last meeting? Maybe we could get whoever took notes at the last meeting to comment, oh wait, that would be *YOU* CJ! So who else is gonna brave the cold? |

CRAP, you got me there !!!! and the combined heft of our fat a**es both of us on the S3T, is a bit much for a long ride True or not, there is a MUCH more politically correct way of putting that !! And now thanks to your post, I'm thinking maybe it will be too cold for the Crud run, darn !! Oh well !! CJ |

True or not, there is a MUCH more politically correct way of putting that !! Umm, okay... here's another try.. The combined mass of the wife and I will be detrimental to the isolater bushings on the S3T. That better? CJ, don't worry, it'll be warm enough to go. } |

I put my app. into New Berlin, Elm Grove, and Brookfield today. Anyone knows any cops in those areas, put in a good word for me. On a bike issue, did any one hit TWT tonight? I got my S2 back from Dull yesterday. He is right. Body panels had to be lifted to get to the battery. The terminals point towards the rear of the bike. Is this normal for an S2? |

"Is this normal for an S2?" I don't think so, I'll have to check mine tonight, but pretty sure they are towards the front of the bike, at least I think they are since I put a battery tender on it once to freshen up the battery. |

I'm planning to go on the Slimey Crud Run. The only things preventing me would be pouring rain, or lack of brake pads. New pads are on the way. See you at Hal's at 8 |

Ooohhhh that's cold !!! Yeah I know I said "We" mackay, but I meant "We" as a club, meeting at Hal's at 8:00 !! Gerry may ride and lead, but he won't know until later, he's having some work on the bike done, hopefully it will be done in time !! I'll post when I hear !! Me myself I can't commit, I would LOVE to go but if I get up SUNDAY and it's too cold, it's back to bed I go and I know that !! As for gloves, I'm not sure where a good place is to get them. The warmest I have I got as a gift from my sis and brother-in-law, but what about any of the ATV, Snowmobile, Bike stores, surely they have warm gloves ?? I bet mikej has some tips though, he knows EVERYTHING !!! CJ (Message edited by cj_xb on September 29, 2004) |

silk glove liners from a camping store really extend the temp range of your existing gloves -- sheap too! |

Then not only will I be miserable, everyone riding with me will be too !! Bomber, you trying to say the liners are made from sheap/sheep ??!! I may still go get me some, I remember you had them and said they were warmer than what I was wearing that day it was sooooo cold !! CJ |
