OK, I know this is like the 3rd thread I've started on the crud run. Who's going for sure? Which way are you coming in from? Want to meet up with other heading in from the same direction? Our plan is the same. Leave Appleton at 8:30 sharp, ride to the Starbucks in Madison on the south side, Monona Dr exit(about a block north on Monona, on your right hand side) we plan to be there at 10:30. We will leave at 11:00 to ride out to Pine Bluff, eta is 11:30-12:00 Probably hang out in Pine Bluff for 1 hour and then head to Leland. I will be packing some Buell product CDs for those of you that don't already have one and to hand out to the unsuspecting! So, one last time, who's going? Who's meeting us in Madison? Who's meeting us in Pine Bluff? Who's meeting us in Leland? PS There are still openings for the track day at Blackhawk on Monday the 4th. Call me if you're interested. Dave |

I should know by tomorrow if I'm doing the CrudRun or not, I should know by Friday what bike I'll be on if I'm going. If going I'll be leaving from east of the Course Cafe in Saukville sometime in the morning, route will depend on weather and traffic and mood and meanderings and any other variable that presents itself (probably westbound somewhere close to or parallel to hwy-60/hwy-33 depending on if I'm intercepting anyone along the way, a couple of possibles so far is all). Speed will be below 100mph, usually within eyesight of the speed limit or so. Departure time will be dependent on if I'm meeting up with anyone. Heading home I almost always take hwy-60 out of Sauk city and begin to roughly meander once east of I-90/94 depending upon the fertilizer and mud content of the roads from harvesting farmers along the way. I can be more specific if anyone cares or wants a riding partner, otherwise I just follow my headlight if I go. |

My plans have fallen through for going down on Saturday. I still might try and meet you in Leland. I was just looking at the forecast. It's supposed to get down to 38 Sat. night! Leland is about 250 miles from me. That would be a long, cold ride! I'll see how it looks as it gets closer to the weekend. I still might make it. |

MikeJ...Taking the Buell and was thinking just running I-94 so I can get there earlier and grab a breakfast somewhere around Starbucks. If you want to lead me though the country side, I can grab some nourishment first and meet you somewhere. Hartford comes to mind as there are plenty of food places on Hwy 60 as you enter town from the east. |

The Mineshaft is right there in town. Or there's some cafe's in the towns along the way as well. Waterloo might be a good spot for some breakfast. Or could meet up in Hartland or Watertown and zigzag west by south to either I94 or hwy18. I'll post Thursday morning if I plan to go. |

MikeJ...Am open to anything. I have not done much west of Hartford and am always looking for new (to me) routes to ride. Hartford is no big deal for me but the Mineshaft is usually pretty crowded on Sundays. Then again, if you want to join me for breakfast, we could probably get their early enough to beat the herd. |

Should probably pass on the Mineshaft, I have a tendancy to make full use of buffets, which in turn makes it difficult to get back on the bike for awhile afterwards. Hwy-60 west of Hartford is just your basic county road, mostly straight, one surrealistic gravel pit straight out of Alfred Hitchcock blended with a little Dali, apart from that just your basic farm roads until you get west of I90/94. There's some sweepers north of Oconomowoc, but since PineBluff is the destination probably best to find more direct routes, but still off the main thruways. |

Public Service Announcement... The Wisconsin Highway Patrol has been using laser's in lieu of radar the last month and a lot of them have been in unmarked cars that do not resemble typical unmarked squads. I have seen a lot of this activity recently on I-94 from the State line to Madison. If you see a car on either the inside or outside shoulder of the road facing the same direction as the flow of traffic with a door open, it is most likely a laser trap. If you see a car perpendicular to the road in the median, it could be either a radar or laser trap. The last places I have witnessed the laser being used is on the overpasses and on the highway onramps that are visually obscured until it is too late by an overpass. Just a word to the wise on your trip to the Slimey Crud Run and other ventures in NaziLand. Now back to your regular programming. |

Mike...You're the navigator. I can survive nicely on a Sausage McMuffin. Just let me know the route you want to take, where to meet and the ETA at Starbucks. My handicap is I don't know of any good roads until I get west of Madison. Hmmm...Then again if we are way north of MadTown, we may pass on Starbucks and head directly to Pine Bluff. Think about it and let me know. |

Hwy-19 ain't a bad ride (as long as we go thru the correct Waterloo ). West of Watertown hwy-19 dumps into Sun Prairie, and from there it's a relatively quick jump down the east side of Madison to pick up 12/18 to Starbucks and PineBluff. Don't know how these links will capture: PineBluff overview Watertown overview |

I'm going don't what time yet. Probably leave MIlwaukee about 7:30 depending on how cold it might be. One way will probably be most on the I road for times sake. Dave |

Well it's the crud run so you know it's going to be cold! Be great to have you join our group at Starbuck's and then ride out to Pine Bluff with us Dave. Dave |

Bill, Just take hwy-16 thru Oconomowoc and on to Watertown, easy to follow, but watch the speed as you dip into the fringes of Oconomowoc as 16 slows down to 35mph while it's still 4+ lanes and most folks keep doing 55-80mph until they get to the 67 overpass. After that there is one y-intersection where 16 splits northwest to BeaverDam and 19 heads into Watertown. |

Dave, I plan to be in Pine Bluff at the very least. Still considering riding to Madison on Saturday and spending the night but that's dependent on a few things. If that happens I'll see you guys for coffee, if it doesn't I'll see you in time for soda and bratwurst. Is there anyone going up from Waterloo? If the Madison overnight goes sour I wouldn't mind meeting up with Boomer or Gearhead and ride up with them. |

I think they are both coming up on Sunday morning along with some other Iowans. I'll call Ralph later and find out for sure unless they post here. |

Yep, probably shouldn't but I plan to be at Blackhawk on Monday too. I was just informed that my new front tire is in this afternoon, it's a Diablo Corsa though so I don't know how well it's going to play with my standard Diablo on the rear, if it doesn't I should have time to match them up. |

Coolice, we're leaning hard towards running to Madison Saturday afternoon and find a cheap motel for the night, then meet Dave's bunch at Starbucks Sunday morning. If you're up for it we'd be glad to hook up with you. |
