I need metal pegs as the rubber pegs give me too much friction with my rubber-soled boots and I can't freely move my foot to the shifter. Anyone know where I can find metal pegs that will fit the Blast? Thanks... | ||

Welcome BumbleBuell! I'm sure they are out there and there is some dirt bike pegs that should work. I'm just asking-but is the reason you need metal is because you're grinding the pegs around turns (or close to it) and are moving your boots back & forth (on the peg) to avoid them scraping on the ground? Again, I'm just asking because I dont know if you're a new rider or a fast experienced rider. If you're new, I'd stay with the rubber and wonder why your moving your feet around so much. | ||

Hi Gearhead - Thanks for the welcome. Right now, I wear high-top Reeboks. I can slide my feet just fine on the rubber pegs to use the shifter and brake. I bought a pair of Sidi Strada boots for the CLAS riding school I'm going to attend mid-October in Alabama. The contact between the boot sole (rubber) and foot peg (rubber) stops my foot movement dead and I can't freely get to the shifter at will. This is NOT how I want to take this class. I thought metal pegs would help me out. I just finished the BRAG event in North Carolina and, while I did put some new lines on the tires, I didn't scrape my pegs. So, I need to be able to shift with ease and these boots do not let me do that. Thanks for any help you can give me. | ||

I'm guessing you have small feet. What some people have done (me included)is to add another shift peg to the brake or shifter lever by drilling (and tapping if desired) a hole in the arm closer to the rider.(there are pictures somewhere). You can also fit a shorter Sportster shift lever on the Blast.('should bolt right on'- shifts faster too). Just a couple of ideas as while moving your feet back and forth on a sportbike for ground clearance may be necessary, it makes regular street riding easier (& safer) if you dont have to shuffle your feet back and forth. I like my brake & shifter accessible for immediate use! | ||

Sorry, i couldn't find those again, i am sure somebody here knows the site. The only problem i have with the rubber pegs is that the outside edge of my boot scrapes before the peg does, but i suppose thats just because i have big feet.  | ||

Hey how much for stock replacement foot pegs? There are some on Ebay I thought of bidding on and don't want to pay too much. Anyone have a guess? Thanks alot. Hey also I am looking for replacement of the footpeg "Y" braces.....some a#@hole ran into my bike and bent both of them! The metal is actually buckled and I am not sure if I take each one and put it in the vice to try to bend it back out if it will be successful or not. I have been watching Ebay for such, so perhaps that will be a winter project. I can still ride but it really is throwing off my center of balance, both pegs are less than an inch of the engine  This happened last month at the library, in a small town of all places, jerk! of course he sped off. It bent my K&N air filter, broke a turn signal lense cover (of course), bent my right hand brake lever (curls around back to the left), minor scratches on frame, but worst is the bent footpegs, and braces. Thanks Erik, No I was not on the bike, I had my 9 yr old daughter with me also. The turnsignal was only the lens cover (cheap). btw Your belt was sent out yesterday, you should get tomorrow (2 day shipping).... | ||

wow Bumblebuell , you hit the nail on the head , only owned my bike a few days and was screwing with the shit lever height till this afternoon and came to the same conclusion . for some reason upshifting wasn't something intuitive was finding myself actually lifting my foot off the peg and then under the shift peg . made for some less than gracefull up shifts . looks at left peg ribs are ragged and worn , right a lil worn but normal . hmmmmmmmm i wear sneakers year round , unless the snows up to my knees or i get dragged to a wedding or a funeral . hey , gonna just cut grind sand those ribs off tomorrow  why even buy dif pegs ? | ||

and just went and sat on bike , size 9 ddd , lenght is not the problem , but also Bumblebuell don't be afraid to tweak the shifter height to suit your riding/leg/foot ergonomics . |
