Rob...I know you said no salvage titles but there's a low milage XB9S (yellow) at Wisconsin Cycle Salvage. It was the tank-frame dent that could easily be covered with the carbon fiber tank sliders. It was price around $4500. |

Coops, I'll sell you my M2 for $5500, then I'd go buy a used bike from Daves with the money (if anything in that price range is still up there that is). And, yes, I know you can do better than that price on other M2's. Just wishfull thinking on my part I guess. ===== ps, just noticed this: "M2 or S3T (w/FI). " M2's are carb'd, newer S3's are injected, older S3's are carb'd. If you really want only an f.i. bike then the M2 is off your list. (Message edited by mikej on September 22, 2004) |

I've got a 99 S3 with the T bars and tall windscreen, but I'm over in WA state. 99 and newer has FI. The M2 are all carb'd, I believe. My bike looks like the blue with white frame in Careyj's post. |

P.S. I'll sell it today if I can pocket $5500 after shipping and any other costs. Less may take me a bit longer to warm up to. |

Hey Coops, check out my S3T in the bikes for sale section. I'm a long ways away, but we can make it work. I just bought a bike in Kentucky, flying there, and I'm looking forward to a great ride back. Bikes can also be shipped. Don |

Luke & Don - shipping is a pain in the azz and costs too much; i'd rather spend $ on something I can use, know what I mean? BTW - Thanks guys. Im aware the M2s were never FI. I also know that older thunderbolts weren't either. I was just hoping for a bike not too much older than '00 model year. Price is the most weighted variable, so an M2 is probably my 1st choice. An S3 would probably be cooler, but definitely cost me more, so if I was looking at one of those, I just wanted to make sure it had all the bells and whistles. |

Coops. Don't count on an M2 being cheaper. I bought my '98 S3T for $4250 with about 9,500 miles on it. with full race kit(muffler, pipe, ignition, air cleaner), large bags, 2 sets of bag liners, extra shock, extra set of race tires, tank bra, tank bag, EXTRA tank bra, and tons of other stuff. We then ran in to a good deal on another '98 S3T with 6,100 miles on it. Paid $3200 for it. Completely stock, except for a V&H can. It did have a salvage title, but was clear, and all fixed. Came with the large bags too. You can see the pic of both of 'em here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/43/74225.jpg Not bad for $7500 for 2 bikes |

Ebay been very very goooood to us<with my best russian accent impression> The Burgandy one was a standard auction. From a guy who worked at Buell. He lived about 20 minutes away from me The Black one was $3200 and a buy it now at that price. From a fairly wealthy guy in Baraboo, WI. Which is about 1 3/4 away from us. We live just outside of Milwaukee. He had a Ferarri, and two cesna<sp?> planes in the hanger at the Baraboo airport along with this bike. So keep your eye on Ebay. I've gotten a *TON* of good deals off there as of late. Got an S3 fairing, rear tail section and gas tank for $140 shipped. Another front S3 fairing for $100(bought the extra body parts to make molds to produce some Carbon Fiber body parts in the future). An '00 Blast with 2900 miles on it for $1900(for the wife), and picked up a complete set of purple body panels for the blast for $60(gonna use the originals to make molds for Carbon-Fiber panels) |

Coops, The S3 at Wisconsin Cycle Salvage ain't a bad deal either. As is the XB9. http://www.cyclesalvage.net/Bikes2/harley.htm The S3 just needs the tank painted, and a new fairing. There is also an '01 Cyclone for $4200 buy it now on ebay. In Indianapolis, IN http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2490983626&ca tegory=49983 |

Yea, I zipped over to ebay right after you posted. Ill keep my eye open for a good "Buy it Now." Not too crazy about the older lightnings... heard that you have to tinker around with them quite a bit. Is that true or would an '00 X1 be just about as reliable as any M2 or S3? I'm a little leary of getting a salvage bike... even if it has a state inspection title, they don't take it up to 120 to check for wobble or vibrations. I don't have a lot of experience on two wheels yet, so I just don't know about a salvage bike... on the other hand, can't beat the price... (Message edited by coops53233 on September 24, 2004) |

There are a few things to watch out for on "tubers". But they can be, and are reliable. I haven't had a single problem with either of the S3Ts. And running gear is identical to the "older lightnings". Just do some research on the Knowledge Base, to see some of the commonly encountered problems. If you're looking in the Milwaukee area, my brother and I surely wouldn't mind test riding a bike you'd be looking at to 100+ MPH for ya (Message edited by Steve_mackay on September 24, 2004) |

You really want to put me on a bike! I appreciate all the info, and if you see a helluva deal on ebay without my name next to it already, let me know... ill think about that salvage bike along with a certain M2 from Daves. Ill be back in WI at the end of the first week of Oct hopefully with some $ and a decision. |

I'll have to pass on Racer66... white frame doesn't do anything good for me, plus no hardbags... nah. Lorence - Canada may be too far away, unless I'm going fishing... but I only do that in the Spring. What color is it? Have any pics? My email is in my profile. I'm kinda picky for wanting a good deal, aren't I? |

Looking for any buell 1203cc motor or a bike that has been wrecked with a good motor. I would prefer to have one with a carb, but will consider fuel injection. I am also looking for the entire front end assembly for a cyclone. Please email me at nickjoiner@yahoo.com |
