Fbolt.. Don't do the 211 thing.. Too many cops on there now and they have it set up as a trap for ANY sport type bikes. They're trying to keep the squids under control.. Try another route, probably more scenic anyway.. I can't make it.. but others might.. Later, |

Ft Washington HD is having their open house this Saturday. Food, Music, and the new 2005 line up. I hope to have my X-1 up and on the road, but will have to take it easy for the next 500 miles until I break it in right. Then watch out as this thing should scoot..... |

Okay, Sorry about the Lost sunday thing... Had a bad few days, became a bit disapointed with the bike for a few days... desperately needed tps adjustment, and my favorite dealer' service dept. just completed the kiss off they started the day after I purchased. ahhhh, but sunday afternoon, while visiting Battlefield HD ( in my car ) Life was renewd. ( post in X board ) Today is great, have plans to ride to Richmond Friday morn, on the XB, and return Sunday Morn. ( have to get back for the Youth football stuff! ) Any how, I still would love to get together with a couple of you guys, USUALLY have Sunday's open. ... |

Well, looks like I'm not going to get this beast back up and running for a bit. Can't seem to get the new valves to open right. I am starting to wonder if the machine shop set the depth of the valve guides right when the installed the new valves and springs. I guess this is what I get when I try to run a .620 lift cam.... |

....is it safe yet? I don't know about anyone else, but been so busy lately, have'nt had much time to get on board. Still would like to have some sort of ride or at least a get together before old man winter hits. Of course with the kids football, and the fact I need a new rear tire, I am limited.. |

I would if I can ever figure how to get these darn collapsible push rod tubes to close. I get so close, but can't get them in. I am at the point that I want to file some off the keeper and just hope I don't get any oil leaks! So if anyone wants to help figure it out, then I can put the exhaust on and go ride the darn thing!!!! |

I just have to say....I hope we get a guy on a Buell who get's clocked at 205...I bet Barney Phife was shi**** his britches when that young lad cruised by him....if you haven't read the story..check out CNN's homepage. Un-believable...coming from a former RC45 owner...I don't see someone pouring enough money into a bike to push it to 205, unless he's taking it out to the flats. It's just not feasible....but hey....who know's....God bless the kid....He's given Honda some great advertising!!! (Hence the reason I would like to see it done on a Buell....think they would run a story on me if I got busted going 130mph on mine?? HAHAHA) |

Well, got the push rod tubes figured out, and I got her started and running. Timing seems to be right on, however I hear a lot of excessive valve train noise. Jose and I pulled the rocker box tops off a couple of times on Sunday, and readjusted the push rods again. Found where the rockers tapped the top of the rocker box, so we ground that out. Still hear the noise. I also noticed that I am not getting a lot of oil to the top end, so that may be an issue, so I'll pull the rockers out again and make sure I am getting good oil flow. I need Jose's drawing on oil flow in a sporty engine. I know it's here somewhere on badweb.. the saga continues..... |

Coleman Powersports in Woodbridge and Falls Church are having their Fall ride on Sunday. Linda wants to do it so I'll probably do it also, probably on the VROD, possibly the Buell (weather determines what I ride) more info at www.wherethepoweris.com |

Parts Unlimited Ducati Austin’s Eric Bostrom will be back on the East Coast for a special trip dedicated to his fans. Eric will be making appearances at two authorized Ducati dealers, Coleman Powersports (www.wheretherepoweris.com) in Falls Church, VA (outside of Washington, DC) and North American Warhorse (www.nawarhorse.com) in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Eric’s weekend will kick off on Friday October 22, where he can be heard live (and in the studio) on the areas top rated “Afternoon Show” on WHFS FM (99.1) along with host Tim Virgin. Mr. Virgin also happens to be a dedicated Ducatisti who owns a 749 Superbike and is a racing enthusiast. Eric will speak about his 2004 season and life in general as a motorcycle racer. After the studio appearance, Eric will visit Coleman Powerports in Falls Church, and attend what is being billed as the “Rockstar Ducati Riders night” event, which will see numerous activities centered on fashion, motorcycles, and superbike racing. The event is open to all riders, regardless of motorcycle brand. On Saturday October 23, Bostrom will appear at North American Warhorse in Scranton, Pennsylvania for the Warhorse Rider appreciation day. During his visit in Scranton, Eric will be doing a rare ride on the street with his fans, along with plenty of local police escorts. The event at North American Warhorse will include live entertainment, free food and refreshments, hourly door prizes, a stunt show, and many other activities. Eric is looking forward to coming back to the East Coast. According to the Boss, "I had such a good time on my last East coast trip that I decided I had to go back. The fans that I met were so knowledgeable and cool that I wish we still had a race in the Northeast to give them. (North American) Warhorse put on such a good Ducati event in the spring that I couldn’t wait to see how they top themselves this time. There were so many people there and they even put up a big Von Dutch display for me; I was just blown away. I hope everyone comes out and sees us there again. DC should be fun too. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do it there. Hope to see lots of Ducatisti at both events." |
