Donut, way to be a friend, it really does boil down to the fact that friends are more important than a bike, real friends know this !! CJ |

Better late than never.... . . . . for summer in Wisconsin!!! So...I've been getting some riding in the last few weeks. As a matter of fact, I've only put 210 miles on my truck in the past 3 weeks. Don't know how many miles on the bikes but it's been racking up quickly. And to add to this pleasure, we're not expecting rain for the next week. Looks like I'll be getting even more miles on 2 wheels BTW...anybody here ever done the Kettle Moraine Scenic Road north on Kewauskum (sp?). WOW!!!! There are some beautiful roads with some wicked twisties. I rode down from GB yesterday. Just over 200 miles on the S1. The new Metzlers were awesome (Dana..thanks for the recommendation). Anyone riding on Saturday? I'm thinking of heading back down that way again. Later, Mennis |

Lake/Dyna, which Metzlers? I was looking at the Z6s for the S3Ts(both need tires right now). |

Steve, A buddy of mine in Janesville has been running Z6's on his S3 this year and loves them. That will be my next set of tires in the spring. |

Steve....I'm running Michelin Macadams on my S3T. They're an obsolete tire that I picked up for next to nothing (literally!). I just put a set of Metzler M1's on my S1W. I wasn't so concerned with longevity on that bike. I might try the Z6's on my S3T next time around. |

Bomber/BadS1, I know it's okay to say no, and I have no problem saying no !!!!! What I said and stand by, is that you have to decide if a friend is a "close" enough friend that you choose him/her over the bike, in that case I would say YES !! But if I borrowed your bike and left it outside my work all day with the ignition on ( key in it ) would you ever let me use it again??? First let me say I've left my key in the bike and light on before and had to have someone remind me to turn it off and take the key, so what ?? You've NEVER left your key in the bike, no one's perfect, please !!! And two, how good of a friend are you, are you my best friend whose stood by me for as many years as Donut says Dull has for him ?? You sure I'd even let you borrow it at all ?? (kidding) Seriously, IF I had a friend I thought enough of and he/she did that, I'd be annoyed but I would still let that friend borrow it again YES !! Give em about it, sure, but I would let them !! I'm not saying everyone I know is that good of a friend, nor am I saying I have any friends "silly" enough to do that, just saying that a "real" friend means something more to a person than a bike !! And if Kinger(and a few others) needed my bike for a day, I would sure loan it to him, of course he's got good sense !! LOL (just kidding dull) CJ |

CJ..thats a whole lotta typing to simply say "a true friend doesnt need to even ask". You either trust someone or you dont. No excuses need to be made at all. |

Ok you got me there.Now....lets say they left the key in it and some low life stole your bike. Then your friend calls you up to tell you what he'd done and what had happened and the Police are on it.Turns up that the cops chase this guy on your bike and he winds up crashing it and totallying it.Oh one more thing 2 weeks later your at home and watching Americas Extreme Police chases and you get to see your bike getting wasted.lol. |

So long as you have full coverage insurance...so what? 5hit happens. Far too many folks treat their bike as some sort of sacred holy grail. Its just a machine & can always be either fixed or repaired. Besides that, now your "friend" would be your indentured slave for life If your friend so happens to be of the opposite sex then all the better, he/she could spend all night making it up to you |

Dyna, your so right !!! lets say they left the key in it and some low life stole your bike. I wouldn't like it at all, but I wouldn't like it if it got stolen in my possession, and I've seen enough posts on this board to know it happens to others too, and it can happen with or without the key in it !! Your not wrong bads1, neither am I, we're just different !! Just remember, I didn't say any/everyone would I be willing to do that for, but a best friend of 13 years, oh yeah !! CJ |

Years ago my best friend of many many years got a key to my house before my wife did. Some folks you trust no matter what happens & if some tiny little detail like a dead battery comes up...big frickin deal. |

BadS1, Dontcha think they'd also need to ride a Buell? If that's the case CJ, I gots me a brother that ALMOST fits all the criteria... 1.) Cowboy hat?... Oh wait, nope... 2.) Pickup Truck? Umm, well he does borrow mine from time to time. 3.) Sing a little tune, umm... well, maybe not that one either. 4.) He does ride a Buell at least! |

Difference in men and women, and HO's !! mackay, I'm guessing your brother's no where near old enough, but bads is right if he has a cowboy hat, truck and can sing a little tune AND looks like Chris Cagle, who I'm going to see in concert on Saturday, then Wooo Hoooo !! Pic on Uke's thread !! LOL Now talk about a tangent, wow !! CJ |
