Ok, I don't know if that title made any sense, but here's the deal. My blast was in storage for 2 years (by storage, I mean I parked it in my parent's garage and the moved it around a little bit and started it twice). Now, the time has come to sell it, but I'd like to get it running first. When I first tried, a few weeks ago, it wouldn't kick over at all. I changed the fuel, the spark plug, and charged up the battery. It starts up pretty easily, but dies a few minutes later, or as soon as I twist the throttle at all. From the way it sounds, when I leave it alone it quits when the auto-enricher warms up. Any thoughts? Also, does anyone in the midwest want to buy a 2001 blast with crossroads rearsets and clubman bars? |

The carb is probably got gas residue plugging the fuel jets. |

Well, I opened up the carb and took the jets out. They looked ok, but to be sure I blew some air through them. They looked a whole lot better after that. Re-assembled everything, and BAM. The bike runs great. Now I just need to sell it.. Thanks! |

So, as I mentioned, it runs great.. except the jets keep reclogging. Does anyone know of a good way to completely flush out the fuel system? |

Do you still have the epa spigot aimed at your carb - it could be shooting old crud into your carb - always have that puppy facing 100 degrees down from the mouth of the carb - better your airbox your spit can than shooting oil and old gunk into your carb - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

The fuel system is fairly simple.Tank, line, carb. Flush (drain) the gas completely. Install a fuel filter (inline-just in case there is a bunch of crap in the tank-should keep the big stuff out of your carb).Be sure the tank vent line is clear. |

OK gotcha, I have seen your ad on ebay. I am in Kansas City, so that is a bit of a drive for me to pick up. Plus I have to sell my Royal Enfield before I can buy anything new. |
