Thanks for the offers, guys. I'll wait and see what Joel says about the roads, then hit up the weather channel and see if I'm still coming. |

Well.. I just spoke with Tilleys.. and for those of us trailering in, it's a go for parking trucks/trailers on their site for the event. They are hoping for rain only this weekend, not for the rest of the week.. They had no information however about a truck to transport luggage to the host hotel (I remember reading something about that) Does anyone have the information on this? They said 'If it's happen'n it's a BRAG thang, not sumtin' Tilley knows abou'' .. Is there any info on this truck? My XB (and the wifes Blast) aren't up for luggage.. and we'll be bringing a couple of bags at least.. Later, |

Hadn't heard anything about a courtesy truck. It's not in any of the materials I got from BRAG. I am riding down. No courtesy truck needed. Mike. (Message edited by xb9er on September 14, 2004) |

Any body interested in sharing a room at Boone Quality Inn 22, 23 and 24 th September. Room with 2 x double beds $49.00 each + tax a night inc breakfast. Only occupant so far, non-drinking, respectable, quiet, god fearing Australian. Well 1 out of 5 isn’t bad. Also have a spare bed at Motel 6 Statesville on the 21st September $19.50 + tax. Down the road from Tilley’s at 1137 Moreland Drive. E-mail paul<no spam>@westonsi.com.au I leave Oz in 46 hours headed for The Salt Flats first but who is counting. Also as yet have not worked out how to get from Charlotte to Statesville on 21st June. Arrive at Charlotte 4:06 pm on AA1474. Any advice on public transport or help would be appreciated. Eric (Spooky) was trying to sort something out for me but have not had any answers to e-mails in the last couple of weeks. Looking forward to meeting you guys and some good riding is to be had I am told. |

Hmmm... I could have sworn it was mentioned here.. That's one of the reasons that it was going to be so much fun, riding out from Statesville.. not having to worry about trying to figure out how to carry all that luggage.. Damn.. Where's Buckin' and company when you need an answer from 'em (Brian, I know your not there anymore, but you must have heard something) Later. |

I will be driving/trailering in from Cherokee to Statesville and then up to Boone on Wednesday. I would be willing to haul some bags to Boone. Look for the Toyota Sequoia with MN plates pulling the 16ft enclosed trailer. |

Blublak, This probably sounds obvious, but why not trailer to Boone and ride to Statesville and back on Wednesday. It looks like about 150 or 160 miles round trip. Just a thought. |

Paulinoz, Sorry for not replying to your emails. My computer crashed and I lost all my contact numbers. Not to fear I'll have you a ride from the airport to Tilleys. Eric |

Hey 'Bolt.. I was thinkin' we may have to do just that.. the only thing is I'm not sure if we'll have someplace to 'drop' it all prior to check in day.. So it may be time to call on some of the kind folks that offered a ride (for our bags)Hmmmmm.. Have to think that over some... and make a call or three.. One way or the other.. This will work out. Later, |

I sure hope you guys have a great ride next week. I'd be there but I had to take a lot of time off work this summer as my Dad was in the hospital for nearly 2 months. I don't know if y'all are headed west of Boone, but if so, check out photos of damage to the Blue Ridge Parkway from the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper's website: http://www.citizentimes.com/photogallery/gallery?id=600 Note this is BEFORE Ivan arrived. I just rode through here Labor Day weekend. Glad I made it before the rains hit. I hope there's enough BRP left for you guys to ride on. |

Closure updates from the Blue Ridge Parkway website: http://www.nps.gov/blri/pphtml/newsdetail14379.html http://www.nps.gov/blri/pphtml/newsdetail14612.html Looks like most of the closures are west of the junction with highway 80 near Marion, NC which is a HELL of a good road by the way! Marion is about 50 miles west of Boone along the Parkway. |

Thanks LaFayett, I'd really appreciate the reports. My wife would really like to make a decision about whether we are going or not, and she's not thrilled with my "lets decide on Tuesday night" approach. Jim |
