Okay I was riding in the VERY small town of Rising Sun and several kids younger than 13 gave me a Hail Hitler sign with their hands, what exactly does that mean? I didn't think I was that old at 26 but I'm starting to feel more distance between the generations, oh well. |

Wheelie sign. Saw this last week from some kids on the corner. (Message edited by dbird29 on September 13, 2004) |

Riding the XB9R, Arai fullface helmet. That was kind of what I thought it meant, just wasn't sure. WHO the heck came up with that STUPID association(meaning relation between the sign and what it means, NOT meaning group of people)!? They can kiss my .... if they think I'll show off for them. No poser here~ (Message edited by tgroghan on September 13, 2004) |

LOL...I came around the [only] corner in my neighborhood the other day at a good clip, whacked it and stood up to shoot down to the stop sign, and some fat 12-year old on a retro pedal bike gave me the 'wheelie' sign, which I didn't oblige... ...then he called me a 'dickface' as I went by. What the hell is wrong with kids today? I should have turned around and watched the little porker squeal and pedal away in terror. |

If someone gave me the HITLER BULLSHIT I think i would just pull up to them give their bike a hard enough shove to fall over and then get lost. |

There is no "stupid association" with Hitler whatsoever. I think you are reading way too much into it. Here is what the kid is trying to get across: "I am impressed at the sight and sound of you riding such a fine example of a modern sport motorcycle on this street. Please do my friends and me the honor of demonstrating the power of your motorcycle and your riding prowess by unleashing a massive amount of torque and lifting the front wheel off the pavement. My arm is your motorcycle. Please lift the front wheel to a height similar to this (straightens arm and raises hand above horizontal). Thank you and may you enjoy the rest of your ride." Mike. |

That's so much more eloquent than the true comment from the same 12 yr old observant. I think it probably came out more like, "Do a F***IN' wheelie dude!" |

When we were little kids, we'd give the arm pull/"honk yer horn" sign to big trucks right? I don't think they were being derogatory, just looking for amusement. |

Seriously now. I never saw someone giving me that sign. If I'd get it and I'm able to stop, I'd ask 'em. If they think I'm cool and they wanted me to do a wheelie, they won't run away but come to me. If they meant the hitler crap, they better run 'cos I'll kick their asses 'till their pants are bleeding red. The wheelie invitation I get here is when someone sticks out both his fists, whacking his virtual throttle and move his hands up like he's doing the wheelie. Generally, kids out here don't mean bad. I like kids, even when they do stupid things. Many times just talking to them reveals they really dont mean bad and they simply dont know what they are doing or what the implications are. Rarely I meet kids that are raised in such a way that they are spoiled beyond rescue but then parents butts need to be kicked 'till they're soaking bloody. JMHO after a few beers, that's all. I get it all the time, some dumb azz kid wanting to see this loud beast wheelie. I'd rather lean forward and mash the throttle. Although, when I kick into it hard, I'll usually pop it up a few inches each shift (2nd and 3rd). Lovin this bike! bnz |

(Showing my age here..) To quote Roger "King Of The Road" Miller: "You know you're gettin' old when you take a bath and your ballz float" Otherwise, I agree with XB9er. |

I would wonder if those people recognized me as I rode by!!! I still get the ol Seig Heil sign from people I know. Heel clicks and all! I grew up to this in school too. Thanks Mom and Dad for naming me Adolf. One event in history and it falls off the top ten baby name list! |
