I don`t care who or what says WHAT...BUT a CG model or a L model IS worst for handling and be sure to WATCH out for POTHOLES or SPEED bumps because if not your going DOWNNNNNNNNNNnnn PERIOD.. and you can say what ya want about suspension travel the only advantage for a low model is for MIDGETS that can`t touch the ground SORRY.!!!! |

Wow...I must be a helluva rider then. I 've been riding my XB9S-Low ( NO SLOW jokes from the peanut gallery please ) for over a year and haven't laid it down yet! (KNOCKS on wood shaped like head) Other than the fact that the only reason I found I had a low model was after I received my title ( the dealer didn't know or FORGOT to tell me ) I've had no issues whatsoever with it. I'm not a tall man at 5'-10" but I'm surely no midget. Quite frankly I don't understand all the hostility. |

Well, sorry to sound so crass, but don't go riding through 3"-4" potholes. I avoid them in Michigan, you can avoid them in Canada. Even my truck doesn't take well to big holes, and it weighs over ten times what the bike does, has larger wheels/tires in every dimension, and has four of them to boot. No bike will be happy if you hit a pothole that deep at any notable speed. |

Your wrong. Not right. Incorrect. I put the low suspension on my 12, to improve handling, and launch speed by low centre or gravity. It worked very well. Ive taken the regular and the low 12 through bitch turns. Low = more stable. Low = faster on the launch. Plus, I touch the ground on the low, and on the regular. As well, my buddy is a midget, and feels the same way. Plus, he would still smoke you through the turns on your 12, while he's on a regular or a low 9 or 12. What I think this is really about, is a problem that you may have with midgets....Did a midget hurt you? Smoke you through a turn? Destroy you on a launch? Beat you to a chick? Whats up Homie? First - Maybe you should have added (confrontational) to the title... Second - Maybe you should be bitching about potholes as opposed to a motorcycle? It seems to me that throughout history, the slow drivers always complain about their inferior equipment. Low CG is a good thing. Pot holes are a bad thing... |

M1 LOW CG= CRAP as same as the LOW models IF they have the same clearance plms. as the 12 CG And as far as POTHOLES go I sure wd. not want to hit a 2" to say the least ON a CG or a LOW model if they are the same clearance under the can as the CG`s...AS if the pothole is 2" You will differntly hit the CAN and Probally go DOWNNNN NOW you tell me whats the advantage in THAT???? |

Misato THEN you guys WAKE up and smell the damn COFFEE A 12CG is NOT as good as handling around corners or on the straights IF one comes into contact with same size hole, etc.etc |

I was coming back from canada 2 weeks ago, stopped up on the pass to take some pics, ~15mph and WHAMMMOOOOO. foot came off a peg, handlebar smacking back. didn't see a hug pot hole. I stoped because it felt so hard I thought I bent a rim. it was all fine but sure, If I was on the cg I'd have a nice dent in the can. its not hard to understand that. NEXT TOPIC! |

One thing that you may be neglecting to consider is that shorter people(midgets) tend to weigh less than giants such as yourself. Less weight means less suspension compression. So perhaps we midgets don't need as much clearance because we don't weigh a ton, like giants do. (Message edited by ravensmith22 on September 09, 2004) |

Don't hit the HOLE! In 9000 miles on my 12R I have hit exactly ONE hole... I saw it ahead of time and AIMED for it about mid corner just to see what would happen. If your friend can't ride that's his fault. Maybe he should get a car? ANY pot hole that's big enough to cause a problem can be avoided (unless maybe he was moving too fast for the street???). Heck, I've avoided CARS with 20' of notice at 45 MPH. A big white lincoln that popped out from in front of a big white van taking a left in front of me no less... What's YOUR problem? |
