You may know that we make a CF windscreen that's the same size as stock: A.S.B. #9022, here Several folks have asked for something a little taller. I've started the roughing out of the tool core, and wanted to get some opinions before finalizing the shape. Here are a few pictures of the start. This is about 1" wider per side (at the instrument panel height, and about 3" taller. The final shape isn't complete, and ONLY the front surface matters, (ignore the bondo thickness on the back) Did you know the screen hump isn't in the center. It's kinda embarrassing to admit, but I'd never noticed it was just off to one side. Now, if it had hugged the instrument cluster tightly, the asymmetry would be cool. But with the gap-osis in the back between the instrument panel and the screen that already exists, I'm thinking that restoring the hump to a symmetrical position (by making it wider to the left) would look best. I'm thinking that exaggerating the hump on the top cut line a little more than stock would look good. Flat across might look too blocky. Not sure whether sharp tight corners or large radius corners would be best. Again, tight corners might be a little too blocky. I'm concerned with making it too big. With what some might call an already twitchy front end, putting a big handlebar mounted air dam on it might make passing semis on a windy day a real adventure. I toyed with the idea of messing with the V down between the headlights, but I think the stock arrangement is what I'll stick with. Thoughts? |

Al, I appreciate they effort in this area. Personally, I would be more interested in a windscreen modified to integrate with the flyscreen. The fella (Dale, I think) at BIH 2004 had the right idea with his black 12S. He just used the wrong windshield. I think it would look good to use the one from the link attached, cut a section out to go around the flyscreen. It would also have to be quick detach also. I'll keep an eye on ebay for one to experiment with. Does anyone else want something else like this? Feedback please! http://www.memphisshades.com/demon_harley.shtml |

It probably won't when you make one out of carbon but right now it looks like a coal shovel. Great effort, though! (I forgot to add that last part, hence the edit) Bob (Message edited by nedwreck on September 09, 2004) |

Maybe if you sorta squared the bottom end more and had it wrap around the side with tighter radiused corners. And made it Translucid Blue. =) Bob |

Al, I like it a lot. I have been looking for something like that for a while. Trojan, I just happened to come along yours yesterday. It looks nice. As far as the shape is concerned, my only comment is that I think it would look great if it gradually got wider going from the bottom to the top. Also, maybe have it curl back towards the rider a little at the top. Lastly, I love Carbon Fibre, but I would really like this to be available in the stock colors. Thats my two cents. Thanks and I'll be looking for it. |

Matt, Looks good. It appears that it is the same width as the stock one, just taller. Do you have any shots of it from the rider view? Looks like you centered the hump, and lengthened it as well. I'm thinking the top edge treatment, without the sharper corners at the edge of the hump, is nice. Gets rid of that "shovel" look Bob alluded to. Mark, turned it back TOWARDS the rider? I toyed with the idea of putting a small lip on it like the way the sero gravity taller screens are, but the thing sits so vertical on the bike, and lip like that would look goofy, I'm afraid. I didn't think of turning it the other way....hmmm. Al |

For those that want an easy to put on and take off larger screen, a National Cycle Streetshield EX will fit on the XB9S. It fits over the stock screen. Kim |

Jens...Thanks for the website. The X1 Scrambler is just what I want to do with my Buell. Now all I need to do is source the parts. Dang, wish I could read German. Too bad my grandfather forbid the family to speak it once they landed here. |

Al, I like higher, but not necessarily wider. Also, I agree the top on the one by Trojan eliminates the shovel look. Dan |

I believe ironmachine (Ironmachine.com) is the dealer for Hillbilly products in the US. If they don't have the item you want on their site, email them and they'll get you a price. Dan |
