Is anyone thinking of taking advantage of the unusually unseasonably unhumid unhottness this weekend? |

I signed up with BRAG for the Twisted Texas Tour, but when I called the guest Hotel in Kerrville they acted like they have not been contacted about this event? Held off on booking a room with them, would hate to be the only Buellie there. Anyone with similer concerns? Craig |

Gents, I think it's approaching time for another gathering at el Ranchito Chingadero. How about the latter part of October, after the love bugs have quit, um, swarming and the temps are moderate to real nice? rt |

Buells racing, September 25th and 26th, Oak Hill Raceway, Oak Hill Texas just North of Henderson, TX. Be there and win the honor of holding an umbrella for one of your favorite local Buell racers. |

Henderson event is the same weekend as the Lone Star Rally in Galveston. Anyone planning on going to Galveston? Group ride maybe? RT, I know Galveston isn't dry. |

Hmm, lemme think--- Galveston: Gulf Coast flat, wet, crowded with drunken partiers... Henderson: East Texas rolling hills, piney woods, hanging out at the racetrack (...drunken party comes later...) I know which way I'd go... rt |

Starter died. There was a tear in the cable that connects the solenoid to the motor, and a fair amount of water got in the brush area. They were seized quite nicely thank you. I cleaned it all up and put the starter back together, just waiting for all the gaskets I had to order to come in. In case you don't know, jerking the starter involves removing the exhaust, primary cover, and clutch/chain/sprocket assembly first. Oh, and call me you astardbay. |

Let me know who might make the trip and I'll have plenty of Shiner for after the racing, just be sure to save me a few! A grill and some brats are not out of the question either. Saturday consists of two 50 mile races, both liter class superbike races, one for experts (not me), and one for novices (me big time). Those are in the morning starting at around 10 AM so a bit tough for y'all to make. The afternoon consists of mini-endurance (tiny bikes) whining around the track for hours. I won't be very competitive in the 50 miler going up against all the repliracers, but I hope to beat my good friend Keith on his CBR600F3 and if I have to blow up my engine trying to do so, I will. heheheh Hopefully Slowby and Englishman and the Team from Austin will also be there, so there'll be a good smattering of Buells on the track. Sunday is sprint race day with the big bikes heading onto the track after lunch. Twenty races or so of eight laps (~ 15 to 20 minutes from warm-up lap to race to cool-down lap, barring any unfortunate incidents of course). I'll be entering two or three races on Sunday. Two is plenty but the third only costs $35 and so is hard to pass up. Spectators can take a lap of the track at noon usually, right before the start of the afternoon races. I'll be sure to bring a stop watch to time y'all. Bring a small walkman FM radio so you can hear the announcer. Not much shade near the track, so bring sunscreen and a hat. Bikes park inside the paddock area. I think the entry fee is $10 for one day or $15 for the weekend. Would be great to finally meet some of you guys. |

Blake: Despite my previous indications of interest, I won't be able to make it to OHR this weekend. It's probably just as well, I'd be a lousy umbrella girl, I just don't have the figure for it! Go fast, don't fall! rt |

Bike in pieces...I'll be a no show. I was only going to go to see RT in tight shorts and an umbrella anyway. |

What?! No umbrella girl. Bad news all around. Torn isolators and replacements not yet arrived. Not looking like I'll be racing tomorrow. Plan for next year, February or April? |

Blake--either one oughta work. I'd love to do it, but you'll have to provide the umbrella! I'm still hoping for another gathering at the ranchito this fall, maybe in mid- to late October. Any chance we could coax you down out of the piney woods? rt |

Philip, Just lazy. I live a mile from work, so gas in my truck isn't a big deal. I should have it running tomorrow. Just have to put the exhaust back on and stuff the battery back in. |
