off to get the ply wood out, it's gonna get nasty! Hope everyone else is ready. Hard to believe that we get hit 2 times in 3 weeks. This one's gonna make Charley look like an afternoon storm. Keep safe

Francis? Francis? Why would you call a hurricane 'Francis'? Did the hurricane show up in a little cravat and a dickie? Smelling of Polo; sipping a Perrier, saying, "Scurry, Scurry, Francis is here!"

If you're going to give a hurricane a name, give it a name that applies, like 'Hurricane Jesus Christ on a Crutch!', followed by the next one 'Hurricane Hooooooooooooly Moses'.

It is Frances (female), not Francis.

Doug, I am in Orlando too (just south of downtown). Can't believe we are
about to get hammered again. Six days without power last time. I will be a bit better prepared this round. Good luck to you.

Good luck to you guys too. Tropical Storm Gaston caused enough problems here (South Carolina) on Sunday; that thing seemed to come out of nowhere and nobody was ready for it. It was pretty mild as these things go but there was a significant amount of flooding and quite a few trees down.

Hugo (in 1989) really kicked our butt, and it was a high class 3 hurricane. I shudder to think what a full-fledged class 4 could do.

Gee...I wonder what Frank is the nickname for? Not too many choices there.

Having seen the aftermath of Hugo, I pray Frances dies at sea. That was awful.

Was in the battery powered lighting business at the time and ate the cost of air freighting shipments from Taiwan direct to Florida in order to help out. Hope there are other manufacturers that will do the same if it hits.

I was involved with cleanup after Andrew.

I sincerely this one is NO WHERE near the problem Andrew was.

Keep your head down folks, help each other and maybe even ask for a little devine intervention.

Good luck all.

I'm feeling a little uneasy right now.. as the wife is still insisting that we end up in Florida.. somehow.. So we're close to her family.. I'm prayin' hard that it's not too bad, they are mostly in Miami and from what I've heard.. it's gonna hit there.. HARD!

The rest of you, find a hole.. (hell build a hill, then dig a hole in it) and pull your bike in with you!

Later,

Good luck to everybody! I'm in Fort Myers and we're still dealing with Charley. Went for a ride last weekend through the state (up 27) and couldn't believe the extent of Charley's damage even inland. "Bad Weather Bikers" is taking new meaning lately!!
