My fiddy frame & swing arm. was thinking of having it blasted so I can paint it. But not if it costs that much. I don't want to have to sand it by hand cus of all the welds and hard to get into places. Plus I am guessing that level of preperation would make the new paint stick like a champ and hold up well. I would of course primer and everything after the blasting. Thats a little high $$ tho. I dont want to pay $80 for blasting it so I can paint it with $18 of spray paint & clear coat hahah |

Then your question should've read something like "does anyone have access to a blast cabinet or know where I can get some small pieces blasted for free or next to nothing?" Then you would've enjoyed my reply. |

lol smart .. Just for Sam I am restating the question: "does anyone have access to a blast cabinet or know where I can get some small pieces blasted for free or next to nothing?" It would be my minibike frame and swing arm so not real big. Powder coat is too expensive as well Dennis. Plus the stock frame is prone to getting bent I don't want to invest that kind of money in something I will probably end up replacing eventually. If/when that day comes I will have the aftermarket frame done for sure.. I'm just wanting to customize my little bike a bit on a small or next to nothing budget. I can get some pretty good spray paint fairly cheap and seen lots of them on the net that have turned out awesome looking. So if anyone has access or knows where to go let me know!! (better you OLD ?) |

Funny guy! I think I got it taken care of though! Sooner then I expected it sounds like too! I should buy some stock in a beer company but you all don't drink the same kinds!! Damnit get some conformity here fellas it would make my beer shopping experiences much more pleasant. Thanks for the help guys! Derek |

Derek... You should know that I will drink anything that says beer on the bottle or can!!! You coulda bought the cheap and got over... but you have the nice gene and bought the good stuff. Just ask Sam... I'll drink anything!!! I have hardly ever seen a beer drinker turn down a beer, no matter what brand if it is offered in friendship... it is COLD... and they are thirsty. Or... they could be like me... "Ya got any beer?" "No, I am out." "Ya got any cough syrup, Scope or Listerine... anything with alcohol would be OK!!" See... things just got a little easier for you Derek! (formerly dasxb9s - still bumming alcohol) |

One of the country's best motorcycle photographers is riding across the country and will be in KC to visit. Bob Feather, who has had his work featured in American Iron, photographed the OCC 911 bike and others. Might be a great opportunity to get a group of Buells photo |

Did you get by the paint place yet? I will buy the sand Tues. after work, so should be ready to blast that little sucker, (the bike Dennis), later this week if your ready!! Paul F |

482 s'miles today girls...John was finally motoring on the FJR...Me thinks the knee is getting better...But he did just add a Corbin seat and bar rizers and that REALLY helped...The freakin' FJR is like a giant electric drill...It just keeps spinnin up...I'll let him post his top speed on KK but one of our other riders reported 150 indicated...I was a good boy, only 140...Kinda weak front tire on the ST...We also crashed a another newbie, to the group, rider today...Just can't seem to get them to realize they REALLY need to wade into the deep end gradually...I even had the TALK before we left this morning...He's okay with just a bruise but his K bike is pretty much a mess...Took out a sign, fence post and a bunch of barbed wire...You know how riders like Sam are just kinda sneaky fast...They're so smooth and seem to never brake that you wonder if their brake light is out...And you're following and OH !!!... Hope you all had a great day...I think we've all been teleported to Minnesota, sure... Bob |

From Racerboy I'll take that as a compliment....even though my tail light was burned out. I've thought the very same thing following many of you.... John, glad to hear you are getting back up to speed, I am sure your "mother" is proud. Can't wait to see you guys again mid Sept. I am also looking forward to meeting a few more of the infamous bedwebbers. Paul, The project part turned out great....since being in the metal fab business, I think that is the first time someone has fabbed up something FOR me. very much appreciated. I will reciprocate! Derek, hope the arm and ribs are doing better. I got the rear pag installed and now I can't wheelie straight(standing up)....got the extra llever installed for the rear brake so I can do high chair wheelies without fear of flipping it on my head....wait til you see this! I haven't put the skidplate on it yet, but thanks again. I didn't make it to the "lap of KC" ride in time to do the actual lap but I showed up in Olathe in time for the BBQ and police standoff....Even though this was a charity event benefitting Ronald McDonald house... The authorities weren't to keen on it taking place in their town. may not be able to blame them. I don't know how many times I heard the story recounted today, but apparently you can make smores over the burning wreckage of smoldering bike and rider.....Two bikes go down on the Freeway, one rear-ending the other, second bike erupts in flames, 300 bikes following get to test evasive tactics.... and so on.... As far as I know both riders went to the hospital, one with severe leg wounds and one with minor burns and assorted wounds from the road(no gear). My hopes that they both make a full and speedy recovery go out to them. aside from that it was a great event. over 700 sportbikes showed up. they gave away a lot of goodies and there was plenty to look at bikes and b00bs!!!! counted five or six Buells in the lot. My end of the day ride out to warrensburg and back got cut short by a ruptured oil line (braided one to the oil cooler) best I can tell when I got it home was that the two braided lines have been rubbing each other for a while and when the steel frayed it punctured the rubber line within. Glad it wasn't anything major..... I was having some depressing thoughts there for a while...... Hope everyone else had as awesome weekend as I did..... Talk at you soon |

10-4 Sam, the skid plate was all Dereks doings though, I was the Virgin on the brake trying to make the thing look O.K. for another fabricator. Welding I can do, slight bending I can do, that my friend was a challenge!! Did you mention Boobs?? Oh yea, hey Tripp, are ya mooved in yet, I almost got my balls back where they are supposed to be, I think ? That damn piano scares me!! Especially when I looked up and seen Sams eye's bulging like someone just kicked his sack, and you and Steve---uh I think you where lifting?? Look forward to the steak dinner at RC's for our next meeting, (RIGHT). I think RC's is a better meeting place, and I know we won't be shut out by a bunch of regulars. Not only that, but we will have a longer launch pad for wheelie's when we leave!!!! |

Anyone interested in getting a group picture taken tonight? American Iron Magazine photographer, Bob Feather, will be staying at my house in the Metro North area tonight, he is riding in today. email me at lovelld@sbcglobal.net or call my cell if you can come up to this end of town or I might get him to take a ride down to westport to Johnny Dare's for dinner. We might just get our Buells pic in American Iron magazine if we can get a few Buells together in one place at one time. cell 816-916-0082 |

That would give us plenty of time to get the thing blasted and primed and I will be able to score the paint that week to get it all done up?? sorry had a busy weekend and couldnt get to it.. Plus I wanna minimize the down time on it cus of my $$ & the paint. Just too damn fun to not have ya know!! |
