Donnie... Different digitals are better, thats for sure. Buy you can sometimes work around the problem by pointing the camera to where you know the pic will be taken, push the shutter button down half way, and hold it there. It will often pre-focus and pre calculate the exposure, removing a huge amount of the lag. If you know the approximate distance the real shot will be taken at, you can pre-focus on *anything* that is that same brightness (shade or sun) and same distance, and just hold the button half down and then pan the camera over to what you really want to photograph. As it turns out, grass (the kind you mow ) is almost exactly the "brightness" the cameras are calibrated for (18% grey card). The brighter the light, the wider angle the lens, and the greater the distance, the greater the range of distances that will be in focus for a particular focus setting. The net effect of this is that on a sunny day if you focus the camera on anything more then 20 feet from you, just about any picture you take from 20 feet out out will be in perfect focus. |

Easy rider, Thanks, that's a filter in photoshop called "glowing edges". I play with the values of it until I get the effect I like best. Here's my '72 XLCH done with the same filter.

EZ, Hey!!! That's James and I in the "Buell On" pic. Since I gotta include a pic with this post...thought I'd let you guys in on some new and innovative ways to get more life out of old Buell parts. This mod alone will easily increase the grin factor tenfold.

Posts without pics may disappear. Sorry Easyrider. Better that than to be cursed and humiliated. Some stereotypical Texas Buellin' Photos... Texas Cotton and Cyclone and on the other side of the road... Texas Oil and Cyclone |

Me - Do you have any that are from more conventional angles and in the sun? Holy crap... What's the deal with that Blinker? It looks like it's hangin' out there about six inches? If so I'll bet that thing flops around pretty good...

This is a friend of mine's hillclimb bike he has been building. It started life as a dirt drag bike for Perry's HD, K-zoo, MI. They ran it for a few years hill climbing in the dirt drag frame and then had the custom frame and swingarm built this winter. This is from the mock-up stage this spring..when I get the updated pictures which will hopefully include a shot with the 3rd Place Trpohy from the Nationals in NH this past weekend, I will put it up.
