Joey, A few Buellers should be at the poker run out of Seaford this Sunday. Hope to see you there. SteveH |

I'd like to, but I'm working on the house this weekend. Someone should count the Buells and point them out to Seaford HD so they'll start supporting us. The last time I was there, they did their best to piss me off. They're so much closer than Annapolis, but I'd rather drive 3 times the distance to get what I need instead of a "screw you Buell rider--there aren't enough of you to make me care" attitude. Keep me updated on other events in the future! |

Joey, Yea it's unfortunate that they are all we have in our area. The organized rides in our area are almost always tied in with either Seaford or Ocean City H/D (same owner). I'll let you know if anything else good comes up. SteveH |

Hey Jose... OK, here's the skinny.. (damn, I'm so hip sometimes aren't I?) I'm working Friday night, and have Saturday off. I was thinking if I can pull a little power nap at work (don't tell the boss) then snag a couple of hours at home before hoppin' on the 'Bolt and headin' to WashHD for your BRAG meeting.. Are you guys gonna be there or are you 'down' for the rest of the year? If I do make it, where do I go once I get there? You do meet at the dealership, right? Just curious, 'cause I'd love to meet up with you guys and get to hang with some other Buellers (since I'm the only one I know of in my immediate area.. at least until I can get my wife on one.. hehehehe) Later, |

Well.. Got my wife on one.. (as you can see from earlier posts elsewhere.. -Thanks again BuckinFubba) We'll be headin' up to Frederick Buell Saturday, her on her 'new' Blast, I on the 'Bolt. Gonna look for stickers for her bike, etc. I'm gonna get some more attention for the swingarm 'blemish'.. Should be there by 10:30 or a little before.. Any BadWebbers in the area that would actually like to meet.. Feel free to stop on by.. We're gonna eat in Gaithersburg, then head to another shop to look at new lids, skins and feet for her. (It's a yellow bike.. and she needs to color coordinate) Hope to see someone there.. Later. |

Any recommendations on dealers in the state of VA? I'm located in Richmond and am looking for a XB9S or possibly XB12S. I've stopped in Colonial H-D in Prince George for a few minutes just to throw a leg over the bikes... unfortunately it was closing time. |

East Coast Harley-Davidson & Buell seem to be Buell friendly, though I don't have any personal experience.

Hey Frayed... Don't know about the guys in the Richmond area.. However if you come north (as being suggested by Turnagain) you may want to consider a few other folks to talk too.. Winchester H-D Buell is trying to be more Buell friendly and get into the greatness all those others are missing. Whitts seems to be able to ignore anyone even thinking of a Buell. Washington H-D (In the few times I've been there) are kind of Buell positive, but the one sales person I talked too didn't even know if they had a bike in stock, let alone what the models were.. Blaylock in Rockville MD claims to be the 'First' Buell dealer. But they would )of course) prefer you to buy a Harley, or a Ducati, Or a Triumph or a Yamaha (the impression I got). Then there is Fredrick (MD again) two of the sales guys there are Buellers and both really want to sell them (not as good as Bubba and Daves when it comes to being BUELL RIDDEN, but the best I have found in the area).. It's all a matter of what you can find. Oh, and when I was shopping for a 2003 Firebolt, East Coast wanted like $11,999 for one.. stock.. Make your own conclusion on that one. I know there are a few folks around here that live in that area, so they just need to see your question to give you a response on local dealers. Hope this helps.. Thanks for the replies... much appreciated. I didn't get to spend more than several minutes at the particular dealer I went to. They seemed pretty interested in selling me a Buell though. They had 3 or 4 lined up on each side of the main entrance door which seemed like a potentially positive thing. The XB12S and R were priced at $10,995.00 and up to 48 mos. warranty for another $719. I also just saw a place in PA advertising the XB12S for $9,995.00 I've been looking at the Kawasaki Z1000 for a few months as well and can pick one up a '03 for $7800 out the door. But then the Buell bug bit again and here I am drooling over the XB's... especially the 12. I might try to find a good price on a '03 XB9S leftover as I intended to stay around the 8k mark. I've spotted one listed as cheap as $6,999.00 and a couple used for a little under that. Also, one with a little damage to the rear that could possibly be fixed cheaply. (rear part of seat ripped up at edge and scratched up subframe on rear left) They were asking $5,450 for that I believe with only a couple hundred miles on it. I'll have to talk with the dealer here more and see if I can sneak in a test ride on a nice day. I've never ridden a Buell in my life. Ever since I met a fella with an X-1 at a gas station in CA and really got to take a good look at one... I've been hooked. The XB's really grab me asthetically. I'll check out those places mentioned and see how it goes. I'll be sure to let you all know if I end up with one. Thanks again. edited by frayed on February 03, 2004 |

I believe Ft. Washington has a Demo Bike right now. You could also wait for some of the spring "open house" events at some of the dealers mentioned, there should be Buell demo rides available. I'll post things as I find out about them here or in the dcbrag calendar. let us know when you'll be at Ft. Washington and maybe we can "buellify" you. Our next FT. Washington DCBRAG meeting is this Saturday at 10 am. |

Well I figure I might as well throw up a quick 'allo since I shall be back in DE in the next couple weeks. Not sure how available I will be once I get back to start with as I get to start all over from scratch. But I plan to keep an eye on here and see if I can make some rides or meetings. My actual return date is still a little on the unknown side. |

Speaking of DE, can anyone confirm the rumor that Mike's Famouse opened a Buell/HD store in Smyrna? |

Joey, Can't confirm that rumor. But it sounds interesting. I can tell you that our favorite O.C. H/D has moved to a larger location in Berlin. Someone must be spending their money there. SteveH(Daytona bound on Friday) |

Boy, this region seems a bit quiet. I'm located in north central MD. My wife and I usually ride Sunday's, been down to Richmond, Rode down skyline drive ( Front Royal to 211, then up 11) . Ride around Southern PA. Anyone got a club thing goin, or just up for a meet n greet? |

Yes it does I'm in the Quantico area myself, quite familiar with EC Harley btw. While I'll say they definately know their way around a Buell, and have a few on the floor. They definately are on the pricey side. |

Well, It's gona be a bit. Was feeling my oats and decided to go WOT from a rolling start on the home stretch. 1 gear no problems, bike wanting to go blue sky, definate tire hopping even with the FL front end and me with my nose in the speedo. 2 gear awesome accelration for 3 secs, the horrible vibration and then the engine racing with no acceleration. Looked in the rear view and saw the pieces of my secondary belt flopping along US 17. So I guess I'm looking for a reinforced Kevlar belt, and a smaller rear sprocket hehe. Damn it was fun though Good news is I got to meet a neighbor about a mile from my house and he's letting the bike "cool off" in his driveway till I can get it to the shop. We shared a few beers and BS'ed while waiting for the wife to come and "rescue me", so it wasn't a total loss. Thanks for the comment Blu! Let me get her back up and rolling and we're in. |

Ok All.. Here's the 'skinny' for me.. This Sunday there is a Southern Cruisers Run leaving from the Roy Rogers on Rt. 7 just off Rt. 15. The wife and I will be going with.. It's heading into WVa (should be an easy ride, after all, most are NOT riding anything like a Buell). If you wanna join in.. well.. I wouldn't object. Next weekend, I'll be in Richmond for the big HOG 21 party/rally.. The weekend after that, I'm leading a 'sport ride' for the SCRC.. hehehehe.. should be me, the wife and maybe one or two others.. New friends and Buellers are as welcome as sunshine.. So.. Who's in the mood for this Sunday and a 'relaxing' cruise? (could always shake it up later..) And Soft.. Just let me know.. and we're in the wind.. Ok, I'm watching for responses.. later, |
