Sweet! Good to see you on here Whortimus! Going to be well enough, soon enough for Octoberfast???

I just RSVP'd with Ferris and reserved my room. Al, are you still pulling Kobe's trailer??? Still like to motor out with you all. Are you taking the I-10 into Cali? Maybe we could meet up in Quartzite?

Also, who's going to American Sport Bike BBQ? Give me a ping, maybe we can head out together. There's a ride going from SD HD on Kearney Mesa out through the twisties up to vista for the BBQ.

Last thing, anyone seen any screamin' deals on a balancing stand? I just bought a tire changer...

Would your axle sitting on a couple of jack stands work? You could level the stands and then run a bar of some sort through the axle...

Pansey! Just Kidding... I know, I was pretty miserable crossing the desert and felt even more sorry for my bike! At least for us it's only about 45 min from Yuma to the mountains where it's cool. If I was in Phx I'd trailer mine too! Look forward to seeing you up there.

M1,

I'm not sure the bearings on the bike would turn freely enough to be accurate. I know the balancing stands use ABEC 5 or 7 bearings to rest the axle on. Definitely a cheap idea though if it worked.

I was thinking that if I did that, I would spin it five times one way and five times the other. I would mark the bottom at each place it stops (as long as they are pretty close and I don't get ten marks all over the wheel...) and then just put the weight opposite of the center of the marks. I would then give it a few spins and see if it stops at a more random place.

Hi Guys,
Even though I went out and bought an Aprilia Tuono, I still took the ol S2 down and put in a new motor. New top end(Pistons,Rings,Valve Job). The shop called and I pick it up tomorrow. Just going to have trouble debating on which one to drive now!
Talked to Bartimus today. He's still not feeling too hot, but he says he's on the mend. Thats good. He still doesnt feel good enough to ride his bike yet! He tried riding in the parking lot and got dizzy. (Probably from ripping 360 degree Burn-outs)! I asked him about the OctoberFast-he said he probably wont even be riding by then. Come on Bart-Perk Up!!!!!!
Charlie,
I wont be pulling that large trailer out to CA for the OctoberFast. If I pull anything at all it will be a Two-Bike Trailer. If I dont pull that out-I'll be riding over there! Hope that doesnt screw anything up for you. Let me Know. If we can ride over together , that be fine too!
I talked to Brian and Kolbie about the barbeque. I got a favorable response from both-but no commitments yet. I may be going out of town-back East, over that week-end. I'll have to check with Carol and see if she bought plane tickets yet. I'll keep you posted.

Al, no big deal, I'll just have to get my trailer up for the trip! We could trail eachother. We'll see what happens. He'll we may end up riding?

For the BBQ we're going to go up a day early and stay with friends. Anyone game for meeting at the HD on Kearney Mesa for the guided ride by the local BRAGG group to the BBQ? Meet time is 0900 if memory serves.

Alright... I just checked out the last two archives (scanned them really...). I need to know when the AZ Bueller's are leaving and from where. I think we should all ride. It's not THAT far. I just did a mapquest on it and from Prescott it's only like 370 miles. That's what... six hours? That's only to "Vista" though, I don't know how much farther it would be to Al's place...

In any case, please inform me as I'll have to ask for the time off. I'm thinking about asking for Friday and Monday? I have no trouble with sleeping on a picnic table or the ground if we need to.

I doubt I'll make it to the convenience store... I'll be headed to wickenberg via the tasty twisties up here and then S to I10 and then west to Vista...

Where should we meet up and when?

If we are leaving Saturday morning... Should I take Monday only off or are we planing on coming back Tuesday?

It looks like either the intersection of 60 and 10 or somewhere in Blythe would be a good place to meet up?

Al...I shall be at your house at 7:15 Saturday mornin'. We'll talk about the BBQ then...I'm still up in the air 'bout it. Got lots goin' at home right now.

M1, that route you posted seems a bit too far north. If we head out of Tucson or Phoenix, we'll be head I-8 through Yuma into San Diego. Correct me if I'm wrong guys...

I'll be back from Sedona late Fri. A Sunday early morning ride might work for me. Just did Jerome, Oak creek, Sedona this week. I'll go Wickenberg to Prescott, maybe on to Jerome. Thats all the time I think I can spare. I'll check the maps and posted rides for So Cal when I get Home this weekend. I would prefer to stay south and ride to the BBQ or make any other planed rides, not stay by the BBQ unless thats where the rides start.

Crap. I suppose I can get there myself then ...

Anyone wanna ride up here this weekend? A friend of mine just picked up a Blast and we're going to go riding on Sunday. If you guys wanna meet up in wickenberg and then ride to Prescott or all the way to Jerome that would be fun. We could also meet you somewhere if you guys head to Grand Canyon H-D and do that circle with you. That one may be better for Ben because he doesn't have very much experience. Either way works. James is correct, they have excellent burgers at the place across from GCHD.

Oh, and I'm talkin' about the BBQ. I just got that Monday off, so I'm goin'. With or without you! ; )

Which one is this for, the BBQ or the other? Dates again? I'll see what I can do about going, even if I have to ride my bike all the way there, that is if you're coming through Yuma to hook up with Charlieboy.

M1 if you take the I-10 to American Sport Bike you will be going through LA. About 2 hours north of where you want to be. I-8 takes you about 45 mins south of where you want to be : ) I-8 to I-5 to American Sport Bike will take a tiny bit longer...but is a bit more scenic then I-15.
