Because if it didn't have that 6th gear it wouldn't hit 50mph out of the box... |

I occasionally ride with Guzzis with 6-speeds. Their owners complain that they rarely ever get to use 6th gear, unless they happen to be in the middle of Nowhere, Montana. I guess Nowhere, Arizona is good for a tall 6th, too. |

Lots of empty desert to exploit a sixth gear... I just thought it was funny that little "cafe racer" had a six speed. It actually looks kinda fun. |

I have a Baker 6 speed in my S-2 and love it.I went with the S-1 front(27) and with the overdrive 6th, I was still seeing a decent drop at freeway speeds. Also shifted better. |

I'd rather have a kick starter... |

With the amount of torque that Chinese 50 has it needs a 23 speed, so that owner should be complaining of being 17 gears short... |

Love my six speed....seems to keep the engine in the right powerband, and lets me cruise on the highway at around 80 mph, at around 2900-3000 rpm....rex |
