ok ladys, fellas...i took my airbox cover off and was inspecting the airfilter and other things under there, and...very strangely...my k &n air filter with only 2000 miles on it is TOTALLY BLACK, covered with what seems to be oil from the intake...as well as the throttle housing metal thing going down into the engine is covered in black oil...basically everything is covered in oil...not gas...also i gave it a little bit of throttle while the cover was off, and i seen it backfire thru the intake...wtf is going on here...i had over 2000 miles on my stock air filter with NO black oil or dirt accumulating...anyone with info please post, im very curious!!!

Don't they do that when it is overfilled with oil? Check your oil level. I'm not sure about this though. Maybe someone else know's more.

What he said. You shouldn't see much oil in the airbox unless you overfilled it.

I meant 'you' collectively.

2.5qts does it every time.

After your first ride after an oil change, and your bike is nice and hot. Check your oil. Notice where the oil level is. Notice also that this is not at the "Full" mark on the dip stick. So that next time when you're checking your oil (when your engine is at full operating temp) you won't mistakenly over fill it, causing it to "puke" in your air box. Hope this helps.
