Man, I wanted to sneak up on those SLAB guys Sunday morning, "kickstands up at ten" and all that crap..... Just found out I fly out Sunday early evening.....whizzes all over that plan. I need a stress reliever..... Digger, still trying to get a hold of the drag boat racers about the Races on the 21st, wifey #1 likes the idea. anyone planning anything for this week(evenings)? I may just go work on Roxanne.....wet sanding the final coat of primer. I decided I need to finish as many of my projects as possible before this baby shows his head.....cause there's so many of them! X1 motor getting new flywheel installed, 88" Nallin motor for the XB in final stages of assembly, finally going to get the hot rod painted(dissasemble this weekend for painting...bodywork done). Derek, have you told anyone else your master plan for the new bike or is it a secret? Give me a call. |

nah I been keeping it under wraps mostly.. lol was..Yes it is true. I have been thinking very very seriously about upgrading to a new bike next spring. and *gasp* it isn't a buell. I have been drawn across the pond it seems.. behold the bike currently in my dreams: http://www.triumph.co.uk/images/dynamic/hi_res/2004%20D600%202.jpg If this was to take place I would be keeping the buell this would go along side her. I have grown a serious desire for an all out sport bike but I am not drawn to the jap stuff enough to purchase one new. If I was to buy a used one I would consider it. This baby however has woed me over. I have drooled over a yellow one at Engle but I want the silver. Oh so sweet.. I will ring when I get home from bowling tonight.. |

Nice choice Fuscat, I really like what Triumph has done lately. I might be joining you in the crossover!! Except mine might say "RR" with a twist!! Hey Sam, Overheard a couple queers talking at the Royals game the other night, they were taking applications to a new bar they are opening in Westport. Hope ya don't mind, I told them you were really "HARD UP" for money and needed to get out of a "TIGHT" spot, they said NOOOOOO problem.hehehe They asked if you were talented?? not sure what that was about, (good thing my wife was there, whew! it's amazing what a friend will do to help out a friend!!). |

Paul, that wife thing is a great cover, glad you don't feel bad using her to hang out with "them". ... and I didn't think they made anything smaller than a fifty with an RR designation? I just say that because we all know that a fifty is too much bike for you..... Derek, I wasn't trying to out you.....can I ride it? |

Richie, my first draw is the asthetic apeal!! That bike is simply beautiful!! Nothing else quite like it in the 600 range sport bikes. (that I can afford anyway) When looking in to it is actually not a huge upgrade power wise from the buell. This is a good thing. I think for crossing over to a true sport bike it will be a nice switch. It's rated at 112hp on paper and while a nice bump, it isn't leaps and bounds over what I am used to. I don't need much more bike than that right at this point. I will leave the 147hp type bikes for a future upgrade. And all the research I have done on it says that it is an incredible handling machine. In fact if you read there PR on the triumph website it will remind you alot of the buells in how and why they designed the bike. It has recieved nothing but high remarks and while a few HP numbers lower then the 600 gsxr's and CBR's every test out or review I have read that compares them say the handling more then makes up for it. In fact the '04 is the first year for the bike but they were released as an '04 in early '03 the first year out of the box a guy won the 2003 Isle Of Man Supersport Junior TT race with one. All around I want a true sport bike and obviously I like bikes that are different then the norm. Bikes that stand out in the sea of motorcycles like the buells. I think for a sport bike in my pricing range I can't do much better then the D600. Well maybe if they came in black!! (three colors to choose from kinda sucks!) The awesome thing is my wife is down with the plan. I had to make a deal with her though that she could then upgrade to my S1 when she is ready for it. The S1 is one of those bikes that I never want to get rid of and she absolutely loves the bike so it works out pretty nicely.. With all my recent additions though I am really starting to fear property tax time.. Sam you know it brothah! |

Mobbers... As you know, I have helped Fuscat fix the Honda CB550 for his wife. I have also done a few little things for some co-workers. I am also looking at only about 250+ days until I can retire. So I need to think about income to supplement my retirement checks. SO... I have thought about getting set up with a small business license so I can legally charge fees for the work. I need to set this up before I retire and I can't have an active business until I retire, so I must have a business name that separates the business from me. So it has been suggested it be put in a fictitious name rather than my own. I was thinking of... Mogan Ronberg's Bike Shop With a small neon sign around the back over the shop door... just to give it a little bit of a professional look... Thoughts??? Anything wrong with a neon sign??? |

The only problem I see is when people start abreviating. "I'm going to drop my bike off saturday" "oh yea where you takin it to" "oh you know over to MoRon's bike shop" *foresees an invoice suddenly appearing in my mail box* |

My mom is in the hospital for vascular surgery, so I am going by there after work. I hope to get out of here early so I can visit her, and do some Buelling tonight... so I might be able to come out and play. Remember Derek & Sam... where Sharon works... she knows all the dogs out there... maybe we can spread a few kibbles around and convince a dog to cooperate with us! Maybe for a nice dog bed... a case of milk bones and a new collar... we can influence a dog to run a little faster! |

KC Mob guys, Thanks for the hospitality you showed me when I was through for the trip. I had a blast meeting and riding with some of you, and truly truly appreciate the tire you donated for the ride (I'm assuming you all knew about that, right???). If and when I end up back in the midwest for work, I will definitely try to meet up and ride with you guys again. Great folks in KC. That BBQ was damn good as well. And as I told Tripper, "you wheelie pretty well for an 'old' man". Good thing we didn't see any cops on that ride! And the 'twisty' road in Kansas? 92 miles, 7 turns. They were good ones though. Take care guys, God Bless, thanks a ton. Keep your eyes posted for pictures in the Tales Section... Alex |

Chicago Tibune By Colleen Mastony Tribune staff reporter Published August 12, 2004 In East Dundee, Village President Roger Ahrens was walking through town when he heard a commotion on the nearby bike path and saw two tiny cycles zoom away. "First I thought, `What the heck are those?'"said recalled Ahrens. "Then I thought, `What are they doing on the bike path?'" Soon after, he asked the village attorney to re-examine local ordinances. Sam, are you up to your old ways again? |

Wow the MO DMV can be harsh! I bought that Honda Dennis & I been working on back in March. Went to the DMV today to get it all legal begal and they stick it to me with $125 in late fees!! $25 a month! Needless to say Mrs. Derek won't be riding it in the next couple weeks anyway! Total of $179.34. Un-friggin-believable! Couldn't afford it today and I wasted a day off work. Course it is Friday the 13th dunno why I even bothered.. nothing like $180 worth of fees for a bike I paid $275 for. |

Derek, you should be able to file a non-use affidavit (they have them behind the counter), stating that the vehicle was not used at any point during the specified time (purchase to licensing) and not be penalized for the registration, property tax you will still owe... never hurts to ask. you shouldn't be required to register a pile of crap taking up space in your (or anyone's) basement, until the law requires it to be registered....which should be when you or someone else starts using it legally? ask lots of questions......I have a 1967 el camino AND a 1972 chevy pick-up that I haven't had to pay for registering since I took them off the street, in 2000 but I still have to pay property tax on both each year. |

Sam, Here in Missouri you have to title the vehicle within 30 days or they will assess a 25.00 per month title fee for every month you fail to title it in up to I believe its 200.00 in penalities after that it is just a straight 200 smackers and there is not a thing you can do about it either........ |
