Naughty, The 15th would maybe work for me also. However, I did notice there is a motorcycle show in Grayslake (yes, Illinois) that day. Has anyone been there and is it worth the trip? Only a few minutes from home but don't know if I should bother. |

Just got back from the " Dragon" and all I can say is HOLY CRAP WHAT A RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe how well my 12S ran, handled, rode, turned everything. NO problem keeping up with the 600 sportbikes, even managed to pass a few. The 1000's no problems in the corners, but when it straightened out a little, they was gone! What a great place to appreciate your bike, tires, test your skills, I no longer have chicken strips on the tires. In fact the sides are quite blistered all the way to the edge. It was unreal. Only one crash when I was there. A R1 is no longer among the living. The rider had AT THE LEAST a broken shoulder. His bike skipped off a few trees and ended up literally in pieces at the bottom of a canyon. Scarey stuff. Worse part it took 1 & 1/2 hours to get medical help to him, poor !!! Leads me to the idea that I'd like to get a trip set up for NEXT summer with any and all who want to go to what I and many others consider one of the best rides in the world. Telling you won't do it right and those of you that have been there already know. If anyone is interested, please post and I'll do some leg work on my end to get a little info together to pass out at the next meeting. The ride there is only about 11 hours all highway that is once out of Illinois, rather smooth. Tons of places to stay. Places that have lodges, cabins, or camping that can accomadate all prices and preference to where ya want to sleep. It is well worth the trip. It so inspired my wife that one trip on the Dragon on the back of my bike brought her to these words when her helmet came off: " We are selling the camper and paying cash for my new Buell Blast. That was so damn fun, I want to learn to ride, and run this myself!!!" The conversion, or perversion has begun!. I don't think this would be that difficult to set up do to the time frame. Let me know. I promise, you'll love it! Try www.tailofthedragon.com for info, or www.killboy.com for photos. Don't be suprised if ya see me on the site in a few days. I think Buell needs to make a strong showing down there. I was the only one down there that I noticed anyway. Got some negative feedback from some people, but most thought the bike was awesome, some didn't know what it was and none could get over the size of the front rotor, most asking " is that stock? " By all means though, I would ask anyone with friends that ride ANY make of bike to come along. The more the better. |

Naughty, I'm going to the Fair on Thursday. If you guys want to go certainly do so and don't worry about me. It's for your B-day and you should celebrate the day how you want to. Just let us know if that's the plan or something else is in the works. The weather may play a factor on indoor or outdoor activities! Fiery, Glad your little toes are healing. I did like the shade of purple though! What do you feel like for Sunday? |

Hi grape! Don't know when you were heading to the fair but I am taking off work on Thursday to go there myself. Of course I am heading out around 6ish to get to Hal's for the club meeting and then I'll probably get back a few hours later to finish off the night but if you wanted to run into somebody at the fair I'll be there most of the day. Disclaimer: You may want to ask CJ about me before you say yes. |
