Sax player picking up a guitar?! Oh man, don't bother, guitarists are a dime a dozen! Get a Tommy Castro CD or a Jimmy Thackery CD to hear what a sax can do for a blues band! In fact, if you love the blues, get two Tommy Castro CDs! He da man and sho 'nuff he needs the money! His sax player is freakin' great, too! | ||

Nony, I'm kinda partial to Joe Houston, actually, maybe some King Curtis. What's the recipe for Memphis Soul Stew?  Thanks for the tip, Keith Crossan can blow. Guess I gotta go CD shopping tomorrow. Playing in Blues and Soul bands is why I'm more comfortable in Db F# and other weird keys than I am playing in C  Remind me to tell you about the time I got to back Billy Paul . . . | ||

 Heres mine! Not a guitar I know but the Violin has always spoken to me more than any other instrument. I play mostly Irish/Bluegrass music but have messed with latin Jazz a little just to do something different. Back before my kids and 69 hour work weeks I would play with friends rock bands to add a little flavor. I just use a little cheap amp right now. | ||

I might go back and try it though, it looks like it could handle a small pub gig, and it'd easily fit in the boot of my car, which is a plus... and it's cheap - more money to spend on the X1 Anonymous - It's an Ibanez Talman. A TC530 to be precise, only made like that in 1994. There is a connection. The "guitarists are a dime a dozen" is spot on. There are probably tens of thousands of top level studio folks in NYC. My advise to the mutant offspring is to capitalize on the "basics", being there on time, being reliable, etc. A day on a Buell can teach you a lot about music. Two hours with an E335 can teach you alot about a Buell. Court - also off to the CD store. | ||

Hey guys, I did buy an amp. I ended up getting a Vox AD60VTX. Great little modeling amp (1x12). Went to Guitar Center and started playing through everything. Amps have changed alot since I last had one (over 10 years ago). Its amazing how the sound quality changes from a $300 amp to a $800 amp. The Vox was $800 and has every effect I could want built into it. It also has 32 preset configurations modeled after certain groups sounds, AC/DC, ZZtop, etc. I could play that thing for days, I forgot how fun it is. | ||

I played the Vox also and thought it was a dandy little noise box. I didn't care much for the verbage in the owner's manual tho- too much "Wow, dude, this is gnarly.." language. Thought the Fender Cyber Deluxe was great also. | ||

Guitar, yes. I've always been an acoustic player. But how many Buell riders have one of these in their home?:  15 strings in 8 courses (pairs, with one single), and frets of gut that we put on.
