Why do people think they need to blur out the plates on bike pics. It's not like anyone can't get the plate number by seeing it out on a public street. I'm confused. |

Courtesy, Buelliedan. I didn't ask you if I could take pics of your bike and post them, by blacking out your plate I am still giving you anonymity. |

Wycked, I guess I just don't get that way of thinking. Plates are out there in public for everyone to see. I could understand a VIN or something like that but a plate just doesn't make sense to me. |

I've never thought about blurring out the plate numbers. You see it a lot but now that I think about it, it really doesn't make sense. Maybe a guy called in sick and doesn't want his boss to see his bike at bike night! Even that is kind of a stretch. Everyone at the bike night saw the guy and his bike anyway. Plate numbers aren't private. What's the big secret? |

Because someone heard from their neighbor who heard it from a co-workers sister that her mom knew a guy at Walmart who had a cousin & his bike was stolen after some internet prowlers saw his pic on the web & thru some skull duggery located his home & stole his bike Yet on the cover of Thunderpress & even in the bike magazines you will see all the custom plates. You want my plate #? U2SLO Now come & take my bike..I dare ya |

hmmm that was unneccesary... Lets see, quit being a chicken and display your name. A wise man once told me never say anything on the web that you wouldn't tell them to there face. And Justin as much as I can LOL |

Spidy, always one in every crowd. Puss is obviously too chicken5hit to display his name. Coward. Now back to the license plate coverup deal. Just what is anyone trying to protect by doing such a thing? |

I can see what wycked is sayin by blurring it kinda like a show where they have to blur out the faces that don;t have permision. But like you said they are always out in the open, hell i even recognize a few of those bikes and who they belong too. |

It hasn't always been acceptable for a magazine to print liscence plates, and many still don't when they do show coverage. I figure people get itchy enough when I walk up and just take a pic of their bike (one person threatened to smash my camera if I shot a pic of his bike) why have them come across it on the web and get irate cause their plate isn't blurred out like the mags do. |

Why would someone get so irate over it?? They ride around on public streets with their plates displayed, do they blurr them out when riding around? |
