Shred made his with regular frame sliders and some threaded rod.
Work real good.
He wasn't meanin' to test 'em though.

Crashing sucks, but there was NO swingarm damage at all. The barends protected the frame (he has an R they're not as prone to frame damage as our bikes are).
What he really needed were EGO protectors

I low sided my XB9S on the way to work recently. The bar end on my Crossroads handlebars, the foot brake lever, and the swing arm are all that were damaged. The frame never touched the ground.

If I had installed swing arm sliders, it is unlikely the swing arm would have gotten scratched either. Needless to say, I'm looking for a set.

Just a few days ago I ran across a thread where someone posted a link to a company (Hilbilly?)that supplies sliders for the handlebars, frame, and swing arm. Does any body remember this?

They're made by LSL, it was in the thread on the LSL frame sliders. I'm still so tempted to tear my bike down to get the welded frame sliders. Tried and tested and works without fault according to Hals. It'd be cool to use the ones from racingmotorcycles.com that have the screw on tie downs.

anyone from hillbilly that could let me know how much all the sliders would be (the rear axle set, the front axle set, the handlebar ends set, and the ones that bolt to the frame...Not the foot peg ones) that would kick ••• thanks much fellas: )

The only problem with the LSL sliders you post a link to above is they will only sell the full set; I only want the swing arm sliders.

The other one is in German. Do they have a distributer in the US?

swingarm sliders would be easily spun up on a lathe -- all that's needed is some delrin (or other suitable material -- skateboard wheels?) and some stainless fasteners . . . . .

I just designed one in SolidWorks and sent the STEP file to a machinist. Hopefully, I will have a set to bolt up in a few days.

Why wouldnt it be possible to drill & tap the swingarm to accept the standard style swingarm slider/ bobbins?


Obviously thats my bike, but the idea should work on an XB.

Look at the underside of our swing arm,you'll see a hole there,it just happens to be the perfect place for the adapter brackets I made for the swingarm sliders to bolt to, will all be in the kit,including nutserts,tool,bolts,etc.Believe me,I tried all the ideas,this was best,imho.
