I'll bet it did : ). I just got rid of my '82 though. Got it running good and traded it for the KL600R. If it was DOHC I think it would be 79-82?? The earlier 70's models were SOHC.

I told the guy that if he ever decided to sell it he has to give me first dibs : ). I really like that bike and I think with some frame gusseting etc it would make a good track .

I am now a member of the unemployed heathen bum, club. I plan to take advantage of this situation and ride while I can, and the desert is hot. (duh!)

Charlie,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you, and Laurie.

I will not be in Arizona for awhile, as it is just too damn hot, and I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I moved here.
I am hitting the road, and planning on making the next two BRAG runs, "running the ridge" and "twisted Texas". In the meantime, I actually thought about trying to catch Alex in his trek across America, but I don't think I can catch him unless I have Al's 89" S2. LOL
Anyway, you guys stick together, ride often, and always ride within you abilities.
I know that everyone has always stuck to that code while I was around and I appreciated that.
I don't know when I'll be back in the Arizona area, I imagine it will certainly be after the summer heat is over. LOL (I know, I'm a wuss) so what? I have the time available to do some riding and by golly, I'm gonna do it.
I'll be thinking of you all while I'm on the road. You have been some great friends, and some truly remarkable riding partners.
I'll especially miss AL, he's so cute!
Just remember, ride hard, ride free, and ride to live...

Tripods forever!!!

Whoretimus

P.S. where did our archives go? there were some good pics there... : )

I'll see who I can bring along with me from here. Brian? Are you listening? Anyway-you've been a good riding partner and a good friend the short time you've been here. Take care and ride Safely.

AL,
my good friend...
I would like nothing better than to see you in Texas. We have had many good rides together. I hope all goes well with that 89" motor. keep the badweb posted during the break in as that is the only means I will have of babysitting you, LOL. Just Kidding!
Yea, I think I just need to get some miles under my belt. It's what I do best. I will try to post when I am near a computer, (I will have my laptop with me, but we've seen what motels have to offer as far as internet service). I'll try to keep in touch, in the meantime, you guys continue to ride lie the wind, and keep trying to get through HWY 191! It is a phenomenal road, certainly worthy of your S2.
I know you didn't spend all that money just to make your S2 keep up with me. Shoot my friend, you should know my old stocker can show you a few things or two. But since you are now an owner of the infamous Aprilia brand, shoot, I'll never catch you now my friend. (notice the many uses of SHOOT instead of using the filtered . Get my point anyway. : )
I'll keep in touch when I can reach an internet connection. Like I said, keep riding, stay in touch, don't lose the brotherhood we have created.
ride hard, ride free, ride like the wind....

WTF jerry?
I think you are watching me, LOL. are you my guardian angel? ha ha ha
thanks for the clue on the back posts, it is correct, just freaked me out, I guess I'm just too pumped about this ride. The archives are in fact intact as you say, (as usual) : )
OK, 30 minutes to launch, I'm trying to post all I can before I hit the road.
Ferris, you know.... you are such a nice guy, and the same goes for Denisea. You two are there for us Buellers, and you actually watch this badweb anticipting folks that may be passing your way. You two are awesome. Plain and simple. You showed me such a good time, and made me feel so welcome, as I'm sure you've done for many Buellers before me. I wil try my best to keep you posted as to my travels, and will let you know when I return to Phoenix.
Thanks again for the open invitation, you know that means much in my book. You and Denisea are great people, and like it or not, I will spread the word of your hospitality.

Tripods forever!

and by the way, screw the spell checking, it's too much for my feeble mind.....

Art - Uhh... Well damn, I don't know what to say. Keep us posted and ride SAFE.

Just FYI, When you get back you might want to look into moving to Prescott. The job situation is sometimes scarce but if you can find something stable the place is IMO the second best in the country (Next to Wasilla Alaska). The sheer number of days I can ride made me choose here. The temps aren't too bad, and as you know, we hve brilliant roads : ).

I'll see you later .

FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!

I hope we can hook up some time, somehow.

You can stay with us. Our lives are in an uproar right now. We are in an apartment and we are trying to close on a new house. But you are still welcome. If we get into the new house it will be really cool.

If you would like to crash at our house in Nashua you can have it all to yourself. It is empty, pretty much. The kitchen is torn up. but the fridge works. The pool is cool, phone is on, cable is minimum but on. There are a couple of air mattresses, sheets, and blankets. It ain't fancy but its yours if you'd like some time to yourself. We can work out getting you a key. You are welcome to it.

Check your e-mail for more info

All,

Thank you for your prayers. Laurie came through the surgery great! The swelling was minimal and she's in good spirits. I thank you all again and thank God for the doctors and nurses at St. Josephs.

Did you go for a ride this weekend? Eliz and I managed to cross the desert in the heat of the day BOTH times. We can't seem to get up early when it's cool LOL! Anyway, we were miserable. Then we tried the ice trick. It works! We put a whole bag O ice in our jackets packing it on the outside of the padding. As the ice melted it was so cool. You could feel the water running all the way down your legs. Anyway, it worked. Thanks for the suggestion Jerry. Worked so well we refilled in Gila Bend and Dateland! Felt sorry for our poor Buells though. I don't think the 110 deg air was doing much cooling!!

Bart,

Thank you for showing us all such a good time.
I know you are feeling the itch, I hope that someday, I'll have the time to just ride... I can only hope! I'll always remember riding with you up the mountain to TQFest. Take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing you again my friend. If you're near the armpit, give a call. Enjoy your adventure. Fair winds, and following seas mate.

That sucks but I envy you! Enjoyed every ride I went on with you....even the freezing rain rides!I'll be sure to care of Al for ya while your gone. Lord knows someone needs to watch that boy. Enjoy the ride and be safe young grasshopper.

That's great news Charlie! I swung through your neck of the woods Friday on the way to San Diego and yesterday on the way home. I can't believe you rode in that heat!

David, good to see your back! Ya, you missed a helluva trip up north. We need to get together for a quick run up Mt. Lemmon or down to Sonoita.

Hey guys,
Made it to Pennsylvania. I'm in Wapwallopen, PA, LOL. The ride's been great so far. Tons of rain, which got into my bags and have soaked my laptop, PDA, and cellphone. : ( But all should be well after they dry out. It is gorgeous out right now, was sitting out watching fireflies, drinking beers and Jaggermeister earlier. It's so peaceful up here. NICE...
Thanks for the kind words, don't worry, I'll be back. I'm just taking advantage of the time off, and getting some of this riding itch worked out. Seems I just never get enough time to ride when I'm busy working. What's up with that?
Burned up some serious highway miles so far, need a new rear tire, damn that straight line riding! I hate it, but wanted to get here ASAP...

Highway61,
(My big brother in Syracuse, NY) Glad to see you posting on the board. We'll hook up this trip for sure, it will be good to ride next to you finally. Keep that Kawa shined, I'll be along soon enuff. : )

Dave,
thanks for the offer, It will still be awhile before I get down your way, I'll look you up for sure when I get down that way...

Ride hard, ride free, and ride like the wind...

Jerry,
not 2 days... It took me three days to get here.
still drying out from the rain. I didn't have 220's on the back, I had a 208, I've got a Avon Venom on the back now, we'll see how that holds up.
Rode the Magna down to Philly today, wow, been awhile since I rode this baby. So smooth, sigh. Brought back old memories. Life is good...

Brian,
remember, don't make plans you can't keep. Folks will get their hopes up. : )

Y'all have fun!!!
